I now suspect, since this device doesnt say ak in the name, that it was intended for other 30 cal european rifles and not the ak
Can you put a washer to stop the pin from goining in the holes?
Someone else mentioned that too here ir on reddit where i also posted. Idk if that will work the original muzzlebrake is up against the sight block so not sure there is room for a washer. I emailed huxwrx asking if its even meant for ak47s and im inclined to just not use the huxwrx can to suppress it. I got it for my ar10 and 300 blackout it was just a bonus to put on an ak so may just call it a loss on the muzzle device and not bother unless they come out with one made for an ak with no holes
i believe your right. there should be a way to push that detent down without issue with the correct muzzle device.
Who is talking about the gun?
We all are and removing the pin from the fsb/gas block on the gun is the original topic of the thread. What are you referring to?
I included some pics and contacted huxwrx again and directly asked if it was meant for ak47s they said yes but for all of their muzzle devices removing the muzzle brake detent pin is required to install them. I dont care enough to do much at this point i got it for my 300 bo sbr and 308 psa ar10 and it will work with those
yeah thats weird i’ve never had a huxwrx so i dont know them but i think taking that out is just weird. if i was you id do what your doing, just forget about it and use it on the ar10 and sbr.
Your post showed up as a reply to my post.
Probably because i use the app and it doesnt show replys like the computer version.
Ben…I wish I read this post yesterday, I just did the same thing trying to mount my Huxwrx muzzle brake, which is now stuck in place by the detent. I read that you used a putty knife to get your muzzle brake off. Any more detail on how you did this before I have to bring mine to a gunsmith?
I cursed alot and just used a putty knife to push hard into that detent pin and push it down enough to get the device to turn. Just double check youre turning clockwise to remove it i managed to tighten it an extra click before i realised it was the wrong way. It was a pain and a struggle for 20 or more min but once i got it a click or two back the right way to remove it loosened up and was easy the rest of the way. Ou just need a thin flat tool to try and push down on that detent to release pressure and ideally get it out of the way. Good luck and let me know how you make out. Also im tempted to find a very thing metal washer that could cover those holes but havent looked yet. Funny enough i forgot i ordered a second of the damn muzzle device back in march, i just got a shipping notification from hixwrx apparently it went out of stock lol so now i have two so may try to find a washer to use on the thing. I just dont get why they have those damn holes, weight savings is my only guess. They need to do smaller holes that the ak detent wont fit in or just remove it all together.
Welcome to the PSA forums
@cobucca
welcome to the forums @cobucca hope you wre able to get your Huxwrx off.
Trying not to hijack this post, but for the life of me I can not figure out how to create a new post on this forum!?
My question, that I wanted to start a new thread on, is this; Does anyone know of a decent muzzle brake/compensator for the PSAK 47 that’s colored in FDE?
Never mind, they just unlocked my ability to post because now I’m “trusted”!
Takes a few days of being in here before you are allowed to post, as you figured out ![]()
Yea, strange but that’s ok. I think that happed to me on another forum also.
