Not sure if this is fine, because I imagine it is not. Should I order a new rod from PSA or do other folk have this and it’s fine? I’m thinking it’s not, and don’t want to take the chance. Lemme know.
SOLVED.

You just need to reseat it

Yeah i saw another thread about it. just applied loctite now. good to go.

You applied loctite to the guide rod?

yeah, you shouldn’t need loctite on the guide rod.

Remove the Loctite ASAP

I think his retainer may have backed out and he re-torqued it. Loctite would not be a problem if that is the case. If you look real closely you can see the two small wrench flats.

It doesn’t just slip in like on a polymer pistol?

That end is threaded on mine.

That’s weird

My apologies

What he and I pictured is technically the head of a screw.

All of my pistols the guide rod just slips into the slide and a flat on the barrel. Sometimes it needs to be “clocked” to seat correctly

So today at 52 I learned there are threaded guide rods :joy:

It’s not threaded that way. What you’re seeing when you look at that end is a screw head that threads into the center of the guide rod. I’ll try and get a picture that makes it clearer w/o removing the capscrew. It’s how they create a shoulder for cir-clip spring retainer.
Zoom in on his first picture, you can barely see the last thread.

So you can change out the spring I imagine?

I just assumed it was like a 90° cam lock or something, or if you wanted to change guide rode springs it was a complete assembly

Never realized they were threaded and could come loose. Mine have never come loose

Of course also own zero Glocks or Glock clones

Guess I’ll hafta play with my Sigs, Berettas, and Springfield and see if they’re different

I said circlip but there’s not one. Prepare for the spring to launch if you remove it.

Zoom! Gone!
I used blue Loctite on my threads.
There is or someone in the past on another thread iirc that had similar.
Checked my Dagger and it was about to get some “gone”

I checked mine again today (because of this thread) and it’s holding steady.

I reset it and applied loctite. Taking to range this weekend or next. will update then. sits fine now, resting or slide locked back.
