Just wanted to give everyone that was following this thread an update on the situation.
First off want to give the Mods on this board huge props for trying to get this situation handled in a timely manner or at all. If not for them it wouldn’t have gotten as far as it did.
After waiting a little over two weeks for a resolution or response. Looks like PSA is going to punt on this one. I never actually heard or had any correspondence with PSA on this issue. They were supposed to reach out to me, but never did. All correspondence went through forum Mods, which I’m grateful for, talked with one of them on the phone, super nice guy.
Anyways after 2+ weeks PSA concluded that the wear on the barrel is normal and case closed. Yea that might be normal wear on the barrel, maybe after 500 rounds. It’s also not just the barrel, it’s the entire assembly. The slide, the striker safety, the striker assembly all show a lot of wear. That’s why I didn’t understand why the conversation was solely focused on the barrel and not the entire upper.
There was talk of possibly getting a “blem” credit, but after dealing or rather not dealing with PSA on this issue I figured it would be more trouble than its worth to possibly get a $20 refund so I declined that.
Not really the outcome that I thought was going to happen. I really just wish they would have owned it and said sorry we F’D up that should have never left our factory as “new”, but I guess it is easier just saying that it’s normal and close the case. Any non-biased person looking at that slide and barrel can plainly see it is not new. ![]()
