Blemishes on 2 “new” dagger slides

Ordered a slide, barrel, recoil spring, and frame. This is my second slide to come in blemished, was promised a blem credit from Jerome in CS. Never got it. Called CS and they said it would be emailed. Never got it. know I know it’s a gun, it’s gonna get scratches, I’ve heard all of that. The issue is, I bought the dagger new, everything should’ve been new, not blem. 40 mins after getting home with it, I get it into my window light and see a deep scratch on the slide, tried to send it in for an exchange and all they offered me was a credit that I never got. Ordered a
Black ECC Rmr slide for my build, came in with circular indentions on the slide. How tf do you indent a steel slide PSA? If I would’ve done these myself, great, but I didn’t. My g19is worn to hell from my holster and dropping it several times. My daggers aren’t EDC guns. They’re just range guns and fun to throw money into and they both sit in the case otherwise. I’ve opened an RMA for both. The pic from August 8th is literally 40 mins after picking up that dagger. (I already tried to send this dagger in and get the slide exchanged but nah they wouldn’t do it. Just offered a credit I never got.)

Check your junk email for the credit. Also, those, with the exception of the scratch, look like normal machining marks to me. Its a $299 complete pistol and i have seen worse on Colt 1911s (idiot marks).

Nothing in spam.

I don’t know of machining marks that you can catch your fingernail on when going over them either. But that’s the same runaround I got last time with the deep scratch. At this point I just want my slides exchanged or my RMA to go through so I can get refunded. Tired of jumping through hoops to get things taken care of.

Well CS isnt on these forums just as an FYI.

Thats fine, just wanted to make others aware of the things they could possibly go through. 2 lemons in a row is crazy

They arnt lemons, and for a company that does millions of $$ a day, its an extremely small percentage. That scratch certainly deserves to get you a credit.

I understand things slip through QC. I get it entirely, but imagine as a consumer and a fan of PSA how I feel to have 2 issues in a row with the same part on the gun and nothing gets done? I genuinely just want new slides at this point, or my money back so I can get another glock. Idk what else to do lol

most guys will scratch their guns up more than that just by using them and holtstering them over time… I get it though you want pristine parts cause thats what you paid for. Your best bet is to recontact customer service. .as guitar guy stated, customer service is not on our forums here, so there is little we can do other than commiserate with you about things. best of luck. I’m sure theyll take care of you, it may not be as fast as you wish, but PSA is good people. trust in the company.

Yeah, I understand my guns will get scratched under the impression that I carry them. My daggers leave the “safe” and go to the range, and get cleaned and put back up. I have several pristine firearms that I’ve put 1000+ rounds through that don’t have scratches that deep or machining marks on them. It’s the principle. I bought a new complete dagger, was a blem slide. Bought a slide because CS wouldn’t replace the blem, only give a “credit” that I never received, and ended up with a whole nother gun instead because well, PSA Sales and all. That slide though, also blem with machine marks, was “new”. I bought them new, not blem. If I scratch them, cool, I can live with that. having a scratch that deep and machine marks on a brand new slide is not cool. I paid for new, me want new.

I appreciate you for responding, I’ve been through this once with CS. They did close to nothing. I’ve put in 2 RMAs and emailed Jerome, again. We will see, it didn’t get me very far last time. It doesn’t affect “function” but it affected my wallet seeing as how blems are cheaper, and I paid for new.

well idk how much help we can be and i understand your issues. Im going to tag @Josiah_PSA in this and see if he’s available to possibly help/correct the issues. he’s been quite busy lately so i dont know how often he gets on the forums these days, but its worth a shot. I’ll also see if @sean.psa can get ahold of josiah or do something himself.

maybe between them and Jerome something positive can happen from all of this.

Can you catch your fingernail on the machining mark?

Yes I can catch it with my fingernail

Sounds like the mods here are running it up the chain for you.

yeah, those are tooling marks from manufacture. Machine operator should have changed out that finish end mill and depending on the finish callout, quality should have yellow tagged it and it should have been sold as a blem. It’s not a critical surface and is only cosmetic which means to me it should at least look good but it might have been within tolerance. In aerospace it would be a 125 surface finish max unless otherwise called out.

That scratch on the slide and what looks like the barrel? Handling damage. We actually have a black pen that we use for anodize touch up but really, it should not have gone out in that condition. In the quality department I work at, we would call that an escape and that would be considered very bad with endless meetings to discuss how to never let it happen again.

I know it does not affect function, but every slide I see on PSA Subreddit that’s new is pristine. Even ones with 1k plus rounds through them (like most of my range guns) look good. You can tell they aren’t carried but only marks are holster wear on the guns on that sub reddit. I paid for a new slide though, and they are both clearly blemished and again, if I bought them blem at a reduced price, cool. I’m just mad I paid for new, and they have these marks on them. I keep my range toys in really good condition. The few carry guns I have are beat to hell. Carrying, training, holstering, reholstering, etc. So normal wear and tear doesn’t bother me, but this isn’t normal.

Yeah, and they gave me the run around for that scratch. I left PSA at like 5:50 - 6:00pm on August 8th, got home, took the video, didn’t really notice it until I had went shooting a few days after and got home to clean it and had a separate issue where I couldn’t clear the chamber to disassemble the firearm. I saw the scratch, compared the gun to the video I took and yep it was there 40-45 mins after pickup when I got home. CS wrote it off and said I wouldn’t get it replaced because it doesn’t affect function and they’d give me a blem credit (I also never received the credit) but I paid for new. It’s not my fault it passed QC as new.

Touching back on the machining marks; a dude on reddit had the same issue, he posted it, and they sent him a slide without him even sending his in. Which is what I find crazy.

You should only buy guns in person. This way you will know that they are cosmetically perfect

Let me know if you hear anything back from them today. I’m waiting on CS to open so I can get the ball rolling.

CS never emailed me back today and I couldn’t get through on the phone.

Still nothing as of 09/10/24 :unamused:
