Can the NRA be rebuilt and regain it’s former glory?
I personally left and put my support behind GOA back in 2022-23 because I felt my money was being wasted on things other than my intentions of 2A support.
The NRA was all most of us new growing up and a lot of you guys are still lifetime members.
Financially speaking I can’t support both the NRA and GOA so what do you guys think, who do we get behind if we can only support one or the other and why?
I pay my NRA dues to vote for change. There’s been some too.
I also donate MORE than dues to
GOA - Most likely $500 this year because of the election.
SAF - Maybe 200 more than dues
NJ2AS- 300 +
Most likely almost 1000 to Win Red for 2A candidates.
I dropped the NRA and went to GOA years back. last time i think iwas at the nra was in 2010 iirc… they just dont support the 2a with no compromises… when they called and asked me why i wouldnt join up again, last year sometime, i told them im a no compromises 2a person and IM part of the GOA so until they can be that way, they wont get me back.
Ive been a life time member of the NRA for a long while. However, i have not made a single donation to the NRA since 2006. I didn’t care for LaPierre. He just struck me as a grifting weasel.
the reperations payment from him is a good start… and i wonder if us voting with our wallets is what is starting to make them feel things and start trying to change things… time will tell … till that time, im gonna just keep voting with my wallet to GOA.
I’m a life member and have a hard time supporting the organization. The internal culture has to evolve to reflect today’s gun owners. I don’t know any members my age or under who are interested in a leather NRA jacket
The old guard only knows their walnut stocked single action, and they refuse to acknowledge the shift in gun culture that the youth show interest in.
Yes, guns are tools, but they are so much more, including fun, to us.
well that is good you feel that way, however time will tell if the changes you’re making as a group, will start to fix things. either way, there is a lot of work that needs to be done still, that and one must ask is it too little too late? i certainly feel its not been enough yet. so we’ll see how it goes over time. until then, i’ll stick with GOA as they align better with me.. I sincerely hope the NRA can make the changes and come back to us, so that we can then join again..
Never to late to try and work for change. IMHO
We have voted in new board members that think the same by staying members. We have sent every beg letter back with “NO $ for you” and “DUMP wayne !!” on them. I’d give NRA memberships for Christmas since the early 80’s. I haven’t in many years now. I totally understand leaving the NRA - It actually adds weight to all my “CHANGE” correspondence with them.
Kinda like the USA flushing the biggest POSUS today like the rat turd is is. The “membership” of the USA came together and voted for change. God forbid we all quit fighting and let the nazicrats rule forever.
I belong and contribute extra to most 2A organizations I am in.
Ya know who paints the NRA as the boogie man the most?
Leftards and nazicrats.
