Over age 60 optics improvement removing your cataracts

I didn’t realize the reason I had to give up open gun sights for bright red dot optics is because Ive been looking through damaged lenses, not unlike sun damaged headlights. So the eye center is replacing 1 lense at a time. But first they had to laser a pin hole in my eyeball (ouch) so that the later trama of removing my damaged lense for new prescription plastic lenses won’t cause trama inflammation pressure inside my eyeball and pop, the laser hole revealing the pressure. Good news is every patient I’ve talked to at the eye clinic says the results will be night and day Cristal clear and colors bright and sharp insted of out of focus dingy yellow. So maybe Ill be able to go back to iron sights. So before giving up on iron sight completely, get you main optics checked out.

Insurance cover this procedure?

According to the admin person yes, Medicare covered and in my case Tricare secondary, since it is a physical aliment/surgery unlike optometry or dental. But I asked how much it would costvout of pocked like a foreign national about $5K per eyeball. Of course I cant speak for people who border cross, I hear theyre getting full benifits unless you cross legally.

How long does it last?

If you mean the results of new lenses, in this short life a lifetime from what Ive seen and heard. Not including heaven where ill get acwhole new body of course.

when are you slated to have the procedure done? And when you do, i wish you good luck! you’ll have to let us know how it turns out.

I’m interested in the results as well.

I used to work for a company that made the machines to cut the I.O.L.s (Intra-Ocular Implant). Very interesting and precise equipment. Back in my day, I could align them to under 3 decimals of a micron of desired radius cut. Met my wife in Hungary at one of our clients, a manufacturer of IOLs. Medi-Contur.
You should do just fine with the procedure. I won’t call it routine, but it’s been done for many decades and the technology well founded and keeps pace with advancements.
Best wishes and GET BETTER!

I called yesterday after the first step procedure laser hole right eye. The 28th it will be the left eye. The appointment to order prescription plastic lenses that match each eye ball. Then last procedure will be to remove my sun/age damaged lenses right eye 1st implant, then 3 days later left eye lense implant. Ill let you know the results but its what eye clinics do. I think Medicare figured 50 years ago it was cheaper than supporting blind people.

well i hope that your procedure goes well when you have it done. im sure you’re gonna love having your regular sight ability back

The inner plexiglass lense determination scheduled for the 10th. My current natural lenses are not only cloudy but completely flat from age, making me extremely far sighted. So the new plexiglass lenses will give me back 20/20, but because I cant focus the lense, Ill still need glasses for tiny print. But otherwise I gain back my youthful vision in both clarity and color. This means Iron sights should work againe. I asked the Dr if I could ge binocular lenses, he told me they make them for millionaires. So that leaves me out lol

What is the difference between this and normal cataract surgery? Last year I had cataract and vitrectomy surgeries done on both eyes. It gave me brighter clear vision and it removed floaters and years of debris. These procedures are now done in about 20 minutes on an outpatient basis under light anesthetic.
