P17, 1917 Eddystone, Remington, and Winchester Version Rifles

This particular example is a P17 1917 Eddystone that I picked up for 100.00 at a gunshow a few years back. I got it from a private seller and really made a great deal.

Very nice example! You practically stole that thing!

Here’s mine, its a 1917 Eddystone that someone had started sporterizing years ago and never quite finished. With all the metal work done on it I decided to just finish sporterizing instead of attempting a restoration. Here it is sporting its new Fajen stock.

Do you still have the old stock?

@brett.foust Welcome to the forums!

Unfortunately no, I sold it a while back to fund a different project.

I do have an all original Eddystone made in 1918 in excellent shape. I wish that I was like Steve and only paid $100 for it. I also have an original 16" bayonet for it from 1911 in amazing shape

My British Pattern 14 .303 (I refuse to say Enfield. They had nothing to do with it) and my model of 1917 30-06. You can tell the P-14 by the screw behind the rear barrel band for the front volley sight which was on the other side though they are seldom found intact. There has been some controversy over what rifle Sgt. Alvin York used to commit his actions of dairing do. His unit was issued model of 1917s but its my understanding he later told his son that somewhere along the way he aquired a Springfield 1903 because he liked the sights better.
