PA10, Gen 3, not going into battery

OK, just got my gen 3, cleaned and lubed it, mounted the scope. Nothing on the gun is other then what was supplied by PSA (besides the scope).

If I pull the charging handle back, it stays all the way back and won’t go into battery unless I press the bolt release. This only happens with the magazine in it. If I remove the mag it functions normally.

Thoughts?

Oh had to reread nevermind. If Empty Mag it will lock the bolt. I assume you are trying to fire though with loaded magazine.

Correct. I just read another post that someone had a similar problem and it was the warhammer charging handle that the rifle came with.

Once the gun is in battery, it runs…it’s just when you switch out mags and try to charge it, the only way to get the rifle into battery is to press the bolt release.

What magazine and ammo are you using? If using a magpul, you need to sand the little bump on the back of the mag. The bump hits the receiver mag well and makes the mag sit at a slight angle.

Yeah Magpul…I’ll take a look when I get back from work. Thanks!

@SmokeyCigar65

see here ( magpul has redesigned their mags since this post. You may need to insert the mag and look around the magwell to see if there is contact. Its for sure a mag issue. I now use Lancers instead of magpul).

Appreciate it…you know what is crazy about this? I spent a good bit of time sanding down a variety of brands of AK 5.56 polymer mags for proper fitment into a Yugo AK I picked up and I literally said to my friend..”Thank God we don’t have to do this sh.t for AR mags” lol

Thanks for the tip on the Lancers
