Palmetto State Armory SUPPORTING the Assault Weapons Ban of 2021?

One of our local gun stores got sick of the runaround trying to place orders and has already transitioned away from PSA and over to Aero. I didn’t expect that to happen so quickly, but they posted it up on their Facebook page a couple hours ago.

It’s not just me!

I just talked again with Compliance. They had bad information and are working on correcting it now. We will have the website updated tomorrow. It is just the 10rd limit and age restriction that pertain us at all. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I apologize for any frustration.

Josiah

Thank you for the update, Josiah. I’m glad this is getting resolved as it’s been a VERY frustrating few days…

Pitter patter, let me buy stuff already!

Please don’t interpret this negatively or as an aggressive post, that is not my intention. I am living life with the over 50 crowd. Growing up in the 70’s have allowed me to see a lot of changes in this country. Not all of them have been bad, but many of the memorable changes have not been good. It is frustrating to me to have witnessed good companies, schools, and Christianity crumble in the name of comfort, convenience, and cost. Doing business with the devil because he offered a lesser evil rarely benefits the greater good. I think most of us would rather spend a fraction more and recieve better service than do business with Brown.

As for the good folks in RI, best of luck with PSA, at the end of the day, Palmetto is still a great company. However, like any wise and large company, they have a legal team that they rely on because there goods and services are so heavily regulated. They do tend to lean towards the working class and fiercely defend 2A, which allows us these sites for 1A freedoms.

THANK YOU PSA

We’re absolutely in the same demographic and it’s astonishing to see how much things have changed. When I was a kid I was able to shoot in my back yard without an issue. We also had riflery and archery as part of gym class and there was never an issue. How times change.

As far as PSA goes. I’ve NEVER had an issue with any of their products, and I have many. This is the first real issue I’ve had with them. As of this morning when I try and check out my cart with three stripped lowers and two complete uppers I am still getting the message that states;

“Items in the order cannot be shipped to the specified address. We apologize, per local laws, we are not permitted to ship this item to your location.”

I hope you can understand my frustration. I’m well in tune with the local laws here and when I first got that message last week I was thrown for a loop, knowing that there were no laws passed that would restrict any of these items. Knowing that PSA has legal and compliance teams just made me wonder where they would have gotten this information from in the first place. I would expect that those respective teams would say “pull up the Rhode Island legislation that restricts these items so we can see what we need to do to comply” and then find out there is none and go about their day.

Having the previous understanding that PSA did fiercely defend the 2A made it even more troubling and the language on their T&C page so closely matching the proposed FEDERAL legislation is what pushed me down the path that this might have been a punitive measure because one of our arsehat House reps was the one to propose it.

I’m not trying to beat a dead horse here, but was told that the site would be updated yesterday and I want to keep on top of this issue until the problem is actually resolved. I WANT to buy more stuff from PSA, as do several other people I’ve been in touch with over the past few days, so I’m not just trying to cause a ruckus for the hell of it.

@NET42 you may need to clear out your cookies and such with your browser. Website changes sometimes don’t work right if you haven’t cleared out your end.

I appreciate the tip, but Information Technology is my career. I assure you the site or purchasing restrictions have not been updated.

I haven’t checked to see. As for IT, I got my BS in Comp Sci in 2003. Then went and got a masters. Then went and got a doctorate (graduated in 2020). :grinning:

Good field to be in for sure. I started during the .com boom in the mid 90’s and moved into the Information Security field around 2005. The nation is starving for qualified people, particularly in the infosec space.

I actually don’t work in IT. Although I do 99% of the IT stuff in my office so I know it is done correctly.

“Items in the order cannot be shipped to the specified address. We apologize, per local laws, we are not permitted to ship this item to your location.”

So, it’s been a week now since you enacted this new policy that has cut off our ability to order, and three days since you said the issue would be fixed “Tomorrow”. What’s going on? There are a whole bunch of people waiting for this to get fixed, many of which wanted to pick up stuff during the “Freedom Week” sale. I’m starting to think ya’ll were just blowing smoke up my arse.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We did change policy, but looks like there is one area that they forgot to whitelist. I will get them to take care of it.

Josiah

E-com took care of the shipping restrictions and whitelisted Rhode Island. If you see anything in the future, feel free to PM myself or Anthony. The only restriction is not being able to purchase magazines over 10rds.

Thank you,

Josiah

Thank you Josiah! It is greatly appreciated!

Guys, apparently there’s still an issue. Even though the ordering issue is fixed, compliance sent me the email below today. A week after finally being able to place the order.

Hello,

Our company policy prohibits us from shipping 51655126135 PSA AR-15 Complete to Rhode Island. This is mentioned on the terms and conditions page of our website. If you are not a Law Enforcement Officer, your order will be cancelled in 5 business days if not resolved beforehand.

If you are a Law Enforcement Officer with the intent to use this weapon in the line of duty, please provide a copy of your credentials and a letter on department letterhead signed by your department’s superior officer stating that the firearm will be used for duty purposes. PSA only recognizes City Police Officers, County Sheriff Deputies, and State Police (including Highway Patrol) as L.E.O’s.

If you are a Federal Firearms License holder, your web order will still be cancelled but you can continue your purchase through our Dealer Sales program. Please call John or Braedon in our Dealer Sales Department at 803-724-6655 or email dealer.sales@palmettostatearmory.com for more detailed information. Please do not contact dealer sales unless you are an FFL holder

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Best regards,

Compliance Department

Thank you so much. Order # xxxxxxxxxxx

Sorry tried to PM but not sure how or if there’s a minimum post limit to do so.

Got it. Thank you. I will get it approved and get this taken care of so nobody else experiences it.
