Planned Arizona camping trip

This has been 4 months in the planning…

Bushcraft/Fieldcraft
Shelters, fire/fire prep, tools that are force multipliers. Basic field sharpening of tools. Firecraft, why & how.
Water purification principals.

Land Nav:
Paper map & compass. Plot an objective, allow planning window for route and return to camp. Execute with prize for first to complete. I’m throwing in a personal purchase prize (none know about).

Communication:
Talk in, non- cell based frequencies set.
Build a commo plan with PACE principals. Use it for the on site duration and ex-fill to pavement.

Shooting:
450 to 650 yatds at one of 2 designated areas. Given a 719 yard max safe range, 4wd may be necessary to set targets.

Good food.
Group dinner & breakfast planned. This is a labour of love! Comradarie, brotherhood, sistethood and safe communal camping practices. We all do our own thing, but some standards ensure none at camp get sick from communal food prep/personal hygiene.

You want to know your brother/sister? Spend some time living off grid with them!

The bottom line Last here…
I have friends, they dont live close. This is a few days sharring our general intrests in outsoor living skilks. Some are older, recently injured and awaiting a MD’s release for normal walking, vs. corrective surgery post injury. Love motivates us to share knowledge. Gift knowledge to those you cate about.

What did you do to build community in the last 4 months? Figurative question, not literal.

Pictures to follow…

Having a program like that for kids also would awsome. So many kids today only want to look at their phone all day or veg out playing video games all day.

I am so glad that my son loved being outside all the time growing up. There weren’t many things that he enjoyed doing more than camping, hunting and fishing with me and some of his friends. Most days you had to make him come inside at night. So many kids today are missing out on life.

Weather got the better of us. Winds 25mph sustained, gusts up to 45mph. Rain/freezing or snow at up to 5.5 inches. Lost 1.5 days of skills practice. Ate some great food, filet mignon steak mixed with mac & cheese (cheddar & goudah with some parmigan), italian sausage, scrambled eggs, 2 types of sausage, dutch oven biscuts & country gravey.

Fellowship, and learning, team work were the big wins despite the shortened trip.
