Psa 15 .223 cycle issue

Bought a new 16 inch psa 15 kit build from a local builder / dealer. (All parts , upper , lower ,etc from psa)

It’s cycles 556 like an absolute champ but is having trouble reliably cycling Remington 223.

I am also noticing gas residue out of the gas block. This gun probably only has 50 or so rounds through it. My thought is once the carbon builds up and seals that gas block it should probably cycle 223 fine.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks

Have you lubed it? Little motor oil on the buffer, spring, bolt and carrier makes night and day. AR’s like a little lube especially when breaking in. ETA: if this one has a set screw gas block make sure the set screws are blue loctite and snug

223 is not as hot as 556, so not surprising. The gas block leaking is normal and will seal itself. If it bothers you, check the set screws on the gas block, unless it is a pinned FSB.

OK I would say I was on the lighter side of lube then perhaps I should’ve been. I’ll give that a try thanks

Do you think once that gas port seals itself up it may run 223 better?

It should. As said above, run it wet.
