I have a 556 PSA Krink with the AK Master Mount side mount that puts a Picatinny rail on top of the dust cover. I put on my AR Romeo Green Dot, and it was way too high for a co-witness. You could look underneath at the iron sites, but they would not be usable for co-witness. I am not finding good specs on any of the rifle mounts, I am guessing a low-profile red dot rifle site would work better on the Krink. Any Krink owners out there find a good Picatinny mount red-dot that works well as a co-witness sight?
id say any micro or mini relfex with a super low mount. but im afraid that if its a cowitness you want, the best ive seen done is with those style dots and an ultimak railed gas tube. they do have them for krinks but be aware that they have em for yugo krinks as well which are longer in length. sorry, if this wasnt very helpful
You have to remove the mount to clean the thing. The mount is designed for holding zero when troops in the field do that. If the red dot fails the standard procedure is to remove it and use the iron sights.
“Co witnessing” is a coincidence of the Stoner AR in-line buffer design.
UPDATE: After doing more research, I ordered a SIG Romeo5, it has a low rise picatinny adapter and one I can look under at the Krink sights, worse come to worse. It has several day and 2 night settings. I will report back my findings, in case anyone is interested.
That’s a good sight, I have a couple of those on various things around here.
Just to provide an update to this string, I am going to do a short review on my Krink and the pros/cons of the Sig Romeo 5 as a co-witness sight. Look for the review in a couple of hours.
