Has anyone else had trouble using the PSA A2 birdcage with gate lock blast shields and silencers?
I have found that the PSA birdcage will not work with gate lock blast shields and silencers and I have had to change to a government contract compan’s bird cage to use gate lock items on my PSA rifles.
I have tried “gate lock blast shields” , Griffin Armament specifically , and they have been hit or miss with numerous “A2” sized muzzle devices.
3 out of 5 BCM devices, and about half of the VG6 devices. And Various brand OEM A2’s are also hit or miss.
The Blast shields would slip on, ( to those not quite ones ) but not lock in place… some were close, but wouldn’t quite completely “latch” into the locked position.
It “appears” that if the recessed rings weren’t cut precisely square… the GA Blast shield wouldn’t readily attach or latch.
I ended up matching a muzzle device to each GA Blast shield.
In fairness to Griffin Armament… I never tried the Blast Shield on one of their numerous GA muzzle brakes. So all my try’s were on other brand muzzle devices.
