PSA Items Reviews

To all the so-called “comedians” that leave stupid answers to someone’s questions about parts being offered; PLEASE refrain from trying to be funny…because you’re not. And to those that ask “does it take Glock mags ?” for an AR charging handle…get a new joke.

When someone from California/New York asks a question, the answer of “move to a free state” or some such is idiotic.

If you can help, help. If you can’t, shaddup.

Save the jokes for your dog or your bathroom mirror…

Are you referring to the website product reviews?

Yes. I figured this is the best place to post it being most here are PSA product users.

Gotcha. Unfortunately there is no way to know if product reviewers are on the forums.

I agree. The people that ask uninformed questions on the website are the ones who need the most help and encouragement. Not everyone who wants a gun was raised around guns or has pursued it as a hobby.

And are we better than them because we know the difference between mlok and keymod, or is it an indication that we may have an unhealthy obsession?

Good stuff, I was in that position not that long ago. Family never had guns, never shot a real gun until I was in my 20s. Asked questions om forums and such starting out. Always got some smart response. Frustrating man they were serious questions. Always thought firearms were taken seriously :man_shrugging:

Said screw that and educated myself all day every day for a long minute. I’m getting there now. Taking apart and putting back together my guns helped an extreme amount.
Google probably thinks I’m a nut with all the firearm related stuff I’m constantly looking up.

Unfortunately, it’s unrealistic to expect PSA to “clean out” all the inane comments. Maybe sending a warning shot that jokes are not tolerated and you will be banned from adding any other further comments would help. But, as far as I know, PSA may actually like the jokes…who knows ?

I for one love the sarcastic answers. I spent quite a while just a few weeks perusing some of the most popular items just for laughs.

I fail to see. Someone has a question and they get sarcasm instead. Are you the type that drives past a car out of gas and yell “Check your fuel gauge next time !!” laugh and keep going ?? That’s just about as helpful as when someone asks if the stripped lowers are high or low shelf and someone says, “Depends where you put it on your bookcase.”. Idiocy.

Cool_Rick-

LOL. That’s the perfect reply…on a forum such as this.

Not when someone is about to spend hard earned cash on a rifle part and has questions before doing so. Not everyone is knowledgeable about AR-15’s and have genuine questions. I, myself, spent some time in the USMC and I can break an AR down and put it back together while literally blindfolded. In my life I have build over 14 AR’s from scratch, and not just putting in FCG’s.

All I’m saying is; show some consideration. ANSWER a question if you know the answer. The person that posted it is checking back frequently for an answer, not some corny 3rd grader playground joke.

If someone asks, “The lower is marked AUTO, does that mean it’s a full-auto lower ?”. Just answer, “No, it’s just an engraving, it has no operational function.”. No need for, “Yes, and it also shoots laser beams like on Star Wars”, or something else idiotic.

Educate not ridicule.

How about some of those people that continually ask those stupid questions do what most of us had to do before the internet and cell phones. We also currently do the same thing now before just asking questions. We actually have to do something that is called SEARCH & READ. Now I know that many people today don’t actually have the patience to read or learn for themselves they just want instant gratification and a answer right then. I am in my 50’s been around guns all my life, years the military and LE. Guess what I do when I have a question about a specific item or part? I take the time to look it up for myself because I usually learn other facts than just the one that I was looking for. I don’t do the crap that you are talking about with stupid answers because there is enough stupidity already on display. I am a little bit more subtle. If it is a forum and a new guy is asking a bunch of stupid questions that have been covered a million times, I will link an article for him showing him the answer but make him read it himself. I then comment that if you take the time to look just about any question you can think of has already been answered for you. If I am on a website like I was the other day and i wanted to know the inside diameter of a specific handguard. The website didn’t list it but after taking a few minutes on other websites guess what? That is right I had my answer tremendously quicker then relying on someone else to offer an opinion that might be correct or absolutely wrong. So as much as stupid answers aggravate you, dumb questions and laziness aggravate me because so many are too lazy to actually learn for themselves. None of us know everything and many of us has great deal of experience in subjects that other don’t and vice versa. I do ask questions like everyone else but I ALWAYS look for the answer first instead of being lazy and just asking a question.

When I spend my hard cash on a “rifle part” I am not about to trust any Joe blow’s opinion that may or may not have a clue what he or she is talking about. If I can’t find the answer myself then I call Customer Service. I get the answer from someone who should know the answer. If they don’t the answer then CS can refer you to a tech that does know the correct answer.

I think this thread is done. The internet is the internet. You can choose to be informed or insulted. That decision is solely yours though.
