PSA UPS issue?

So why does PSA have such a bad relationship with UPS? I ordered a barrel from PSA Thursday and UPS stil is not showing any tracking info. I also ordered some items from Midway USA and Brownells shortly afterwards. Both of those packages are in transit and it appe that both of those will arrive before there is any tracking info from UPS for the barrel. It seems that PSA is the only company that has any issue with UPS and tracking. Sorry I don’t buy the excuse that PSA sends ppl trailer loads of stuff every day to UPS. I can guarantee that both Brownells and MIDWAY send just as many, if not more, as PSA does and only PSA has ‘issues’ with their stuff sitting in trailers for days and days. It sound like someone from PSA management needs to have a discussion with the local UPS mangling team and get it straight or look elsewhere for shipping. This will probably be my last times I purchase from them because of this issue.

UPS has a hub at the Columbia airport. That is why PSA uses them. UPS is also EXTREMELY short on employees (have a friend that works there). And yes, PSA delivers 7 full tractor trailers a day. Why UPS doesnt scan them in is not on PSA, but is on UPS. Sure Midway and Brownells (and we could throw in other companies like Primary Arms) are big gun distrubutors, but not on the level of PSA, which btw has multiple manufacturing and shipping facilities here in the Columbia area.

I don’t doubt that PSA is a big distributor. I have personally seen how large the Midway USA facility is( larger than the majority of Amazon fulfillment facility ) and they are not even near a hub. My point is, that since PSA ships so
Much via UPS, they should have leverage with UPS. It is interesting that UPS has issues there, but yet seems to not have issues at other places across the country. It seems PSA is the only ‘big’ player in the gun realm that has issue with their primary carrier.

Many places have had UPS issues this year.

This has been covered extensively several times in the past Explaining and understanding how it works seems to be a mute point since you state you’ll no longer order from them because of this issue.

Picking up single items in the little brown truck and bringing them back to the local distribution center will always show faster results on tracking info compared to filling several tractor trailers full and hauling them back to a major hub.

I ordered some stuff from Rose City archery in Oregon last week and they say it will be delivered here in PA by Monday but as far as UPS tracking is concerned, it’s still in Oregon.

The problem is with UPS, not PSA.

Lol…I doubt Midway and Brownells use little brown trucks for the times they ship each day. My point is that I underarms 100% it is not PSAs fault. But, again, since this is a UPS issue, it would seem that PSA would be all in the local UPS managements ear about resiolvong the issue. Lion order from numerous places and this is the first time I have i seen this with any shipper and large vendor or online retailer. It is just odd to me. Again, I get items almost daily from all over the place and have never seen this before. Now USPS tracking is another matter all together. They are a joke no doubt

We dont know that they arnt in UPS’ ear. But i know UPS cannot magically make employees appear out of thin air. My friend can work all the overtime he wants and his dept still wont catch up.

I underarms that. But how is that all the other online gun and shooting sports retailers don’t seem to have this issue with their shipped items? That is what I don’t get.

They arnt delivering to a hub that handles ground and air.

Then their stuff should ship even faster. That makes no sense to say that. If it goes directly to the hub it should not sit for days and days. It would seem to me that if that was the case, how does UPS manage to get other shipments delivers in a timely manner? Every package shipped through them goes through a whose those packages move through the hubs and yet the trailer loads of stuff from PSA are the only ones that ■■■■ for days. If labor shortages are the issue, then this should be a problem with every package that is shipped UPS. That is just not the case.

You could start a Facebook group and tell everyone to never buy from PSA again like all the other people do…

It is for many Columbia area companies. You can refuse to believe it all you want, but ive seen it. The Columbia hub simply doesnt have the manpower to handle the load.

So if it is such an issue with that hub, wonder why UPS does nothing to improve the performance? I work in the pharma industry and it is not easy to hire folks, but we have had to raise pay and benefits and now we can get the folks we need to work. It is interesting that the area there is having so many issues.

You would probably be surprised at how many advertisements are ran to staff those locations. Attrition is high. We definitely keep them busy.

What I was told by a friend that works in UPS is that they are somewhat holding back on distributing packages because of the snowstorms that is happening up north. Now I don’t know if it’s true or not but seems like a legit reason for UPS to be lacking this time around.

So how long will the trailers ‘sit’ before UPS gets to them?

Dude you’re starting to make yourself look silly. Placed an order on the 2nd and it was on my porch yesterday.
