Quality control issues

Welcome @womorris1 . Its always good to have new members here. Would you care to expound on your post a little?

Good evening Guitar Guy. I’m trying to get used to this forum. I created a full post with the title" quality control issues " apparently after this one done by mistake. Was told in my notifications the new post was temporarily hidden by Akismet, whatever that is. I have quality control issues with a new marauder pistol and new carbine. I’m not reposting the long explanation again here. Hopefully the new one will be posted soon.

I just looked and cant find your other post, if you copy and paste it here that would be helpful. PSA customer service is not on the forums but there are PSA reps and many knowledgeable people that might can help you out.

Found it:

I just got back from the range after shooting a new pistol lower with enhanced trigger and SB Tactical brace and 7.5 in marauder upper with fathers of freedom BCG. Also shot for the first time a a stealth rifle lower with a carbine length nitrite upper with premium nitrite BCG. I have quality control issues with both firearms. The marauder bolt catch fell off the lower because the roll pin fell out sometime during the range session and upon inspection of the upper and BCG, there is an excessive amount of what appears to be brass flakes the size of ground pepper and the cam pin has a deep half moon shaped gouge that catches your fingernail when run across it. The carbine has trigger reset issues, trigger resets fine when it’s separate from the upper but during live fire, it has to be reset by hand. These are problems that I’ve never seen before. The marauder upper is a replacement for one that had a clocked barrel and charging handle channel that was so out of spec. you had to force the charging handle in. I have 4 other PSA pistols and carbines. The 5.56 pistol and carbine were purchased 6+years ago with noproblems. The pistol in 9mm was purchased 2 years ago with no problems. The 9mm carbine was purchased within the last year and has trigger reset issues,
What is going on with PSA’S quality control? I replaced the lost bolt catch roll pin, I’m going to disassemble the trigger group and inspect for burrs. Don’t know what is going on with the brass shavings and cam pin gouge. Anyone else experiencing these issues?

That’s cool, don’t know my way around this forum yet. Where did you find it?

So i have not heard of any of your issues…it sounds like you need to send them in for repair. That would require contacting customer service tomorrow.

As for quality control, PSA’s QC has been (to my knowledge) as good as it has always been. Sometimes due to the vokume they do things slip through the cracks, but they stand by their products and will repair.

If you dont want to send them in, the post some pictures (blue button bottom right as you are typing a post) and we will see what we can do.

It was marked for deletion. The system thought you were spam since you are a new member and had 2 quick posts.

Side note, you are lubing everything properly? And what type of ammo? The brass flakes sounds like powder residue.

Thanks brother, I have to get up early and have to go off line now, I’ll post some pictures tomorrow.

Is it a .300BO marauder? If so it’s not brass flakes, its unburnt powder. Basically the excess powder dumps into the receiver when it cycles and will be yellow. My BCGs all have the half moon wear and the ridge is on all of them, some less prominent than others. As long as there aren’t gouges it’s normal wear due to tolerances. The trigger issue is most likely a burr the disconnector, that’s an easy fix.
