I replaced my Dagger stock hinged trigger shoe with a Serpico Bravo AL flat trigger today. Replaced only the shoe using all OE Dagger trigger connector parts. Function checks and safeties all look good. I’ll get it out to the range this weekend.
Make sure you put some lubrication on the face of the connector… It looks dry. Don’t want you having any other issues.
I put it together function check it. I’m going to take it apart, polish the appropriate surfaces and lube the appropriate places. Thanks.
While I don’t care for the hinged trigger either, after shooting it it really isn’t terrible. I just prefer a flat faced trigger. I shoot better with them. I don’t even mind plastic trigger shoes (I think many are Nylon 66) but decided to replace this one to see what I think and went with a billet aluminum version. I kept the stock trigger bar and connector because they feel fine to me. Even with the Serpico trigger I’m getting excellent engagement of the trigger bar on the trigger housing safety shelf which is important to me. I like tweaking little things here and there for little improvements.
I put 340 rounds through it today with the flat trigger. Performed flawlessly and now I love the dagger even more. I’m going to have to do this to my other Daggers as well.
Did a bit of fine tuning to zero the Holosun and now everything is perfect.
I’m going to take it apart again to do some polishing on the trigger components.
Love these PSA Daggers!
BTW… The Vibratite VC3 thread locker you recommended cured my problem of the Holosun loosening up after 80 to 100 rounds. Thanks!
I did to! Thanks for intel works great!
I have owned and shot the S&W M&P for years, the hinged trigger doesn’t bother me.
It’s not even M&P style anyway. Those are more flimsy. Though I never noticed the flex on those either. Compare the Dagger shoe to the FN FNS/509 pistols. Looks and acts just like those.
Also with how my Dagger’s have a bit heavier pull but a cleaner wall than other Glock’s I’ve shot, it reminds me even more of FN’s.
I like the dagger shoe-- very wide smooth and comfortable without a dingus in the center. You guys need to appreciate it more.
Have you had any issues with the trigger pin walking since you got this trigger shoe? I had read on another post that the trigger shoe was too thing and wouldn’t seat the trigger pin quite correctly and it would start to walk. Just curious how your experience has been
No issues at all. While i don’t hate the hinged shoe that the dagger comes with I prefer a flat faced polymer trigger. In various Daggers I have used the aluminum trigger, the P80 flat face and the Vickers Tango Down flat face. The Vickers is my favorite. All work fine and shoot fine in stock PSA lower parts kit with just a trigger shoe replacement.
The trigger pin is supported by the lower frame and retained by the slide lock spring via the groove in the pin.
If the pin keeps falling out i bet it’s due to improper reassembly. It’s easy to push that spring out of wack and then the pin will walk.
I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now. I like the Rock trigger, I wish they would offer that on the Dagger.
Thanks for the recommendation on Serpico Performance.
It’s possible if the trigger shoe is thinner, width wise, that the pin could walk slightly. But similar to what cdmarano said, the slide catch spring keeps the catch tensioned, pushing it down into the groove in the pin. So even if it walked a bit it shouldn’t come all the way out.
Where did you get this piece and what did it cost?
Thanks for the info I appreciate it. I’ve got the p80 flat face and was thinking about the serpico for my other dagger but I’ll check out the Vickers as well I actually haven’t seen that one yet.
The Vickers Tango Down trigger shoe is on sale now at Primary Arms for $30. They say it’s made out of the same material as the OE Glock trigger. IMO it’s very high quality and I like it. The P80 flat face is a great low budget alternative. You can by the shoe, safety blade and pins from KN Tactical for about $10. Of course shipping on either one brings up the price a bit. Better to order along when buying something else.
The black one is a complete dagger I bought. All stock PSA parts except for P80 trigger shoe and Glock OE iron sites. I also did replace the mag release spring with a 2.5 lb one for easier mag drops.
The FDE was bought as a complete lower and has stock PSA lower internals that came with it with and I replaced the stock trigger shoe with a Vickers Tango Down trigger shoe. I also replaced the mag release with a Vickers Tango Down extended mag release (longer than stock dagger but shorter than Glock extended with rounded off edges). The upper is an AOA slide, PSA barrel, P80 channel liner and the rest are OE Glock parts. The slide has no recoil bosses for the Holosun and it was always coming loose. A buddy of mine that is a machinist drilled two holes and machined a couple of posts that drop in and act as recoil bosses. The optic used to come loose in 100 rounds no matter what. Now it has over 1000 since the modifications and no issues. Black gun has about 4K roundds through it and FDE has over 5K.
I normally don’t like FDE at all, but I have to hand it to you on the camo job on that slide, looks very slick.
I wanted to replace my trigger shoe as well. Are those just 2 roll pins that pop out?
