Rock in 22 WINMAG

Had a revaluation the other day looking at 22 win mags, being keltech and S&W ect and then it hit me…the Rock is set up perfect for that…yes the slide would need to be reworked but it would make a great foundation for the round… something to think about…
I figured since I suggested .22 lr for a dagger, why not throw this out there too…LOL

Are you referring to a 22lr conversion kit? I would buy one. Would be nice if they made one for the 5.7 and let you reuse your barrel. Like in an ar 15 conversion.

a conversion kit for 22mag may be better situated for the Rock knowing its wider magazine and all.

Don’t really see the point. .22mag gets you less velocity and energy with the reliability downside of rimfire compared to 5.7.

No. OP is talking about a ROCK in 22WMR (22 Winchester Magnum Rifle), sometimes referred to as 22 Mag or 22 Magnum.

Kel Tec released their PMR30 a few decades ago and recently Smith & Wesson released their S&W M&P 5.7 (5.7x28 chambered pistol) in a 22WMR version. I think they call it the M&P 22 Magnum but it’s the same as their 57. There are a few other pistols similar to the Kel Tec PMR30 as well. I think Walther makes one.

Anyway, OP is saying that he thinks that PSA should release a Rock in 22WMR same as S&W did for their M&P 5.7.

Personally, I have no interest in one. It wouldn’t fill any roll in my inventory. Some people would like a less expensive to shoot version but I don’t see the 22WMR as that, particularly since I reload for the 5.7x20. A .22LR would be less expensive, but I think dry fire combined with some live fire is just as effective. But I get it.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

I would be interested in a conversion kit just because.

I’d buy a .22WMR version. It’s fun to shoot!

22 conversation would be nice to save on the high cost of 5.7 ammo

its been coming down considerably since PSA / AAC have produced their 5.7x28

You are correct…a dedicated pistol although if a conversion kit would “reliably” do the same it might be easier to manufacture…but again I like the idea of a complete pistol.

I mean if it’s 22 Magnum versus 5.7 you’re going to be saving some money but not like you would with 22 long rifle

Speaking from experience, a .22 magnum handgun may not be very practical but my goodness are they ever fun to shoot. Real fire breathers, all bark and no bite.

If the Rock got a .22 WMR conversion I’d be taking a close look at it.

Oh yeah, no doubt about that. They’re are a lot of fun! I need to pick up a WMP at some point.
