situational awareness, i love that phrase. i see your perspective now lol that makes more sense
I had the Nest cams and they were good but $$$$$
I changed to Eufy, they make good quality cameras and include a local hard drive for storage. Having it off the cloud was important to me.
I have the Blink XT2 system and have been very happy with it. The batteries last forever in them and I think the quality is actually quite good. The only thing I wish is that they could distinguish between humans and deer.
Most of my cameras are in trees, pointing back at my house.
thatās the best thing about the Blink cameras - wireless and batteries so they can be mounted anywhere. I just wish the night IR mode was better and viewing in the app didnāt go through their servers (even for local storage itās pulled from the sync module by their server and delivered to the app for viewing).
I use solar panels for 4 of mine.
I keep hoping they will make them so you can access them from a PC.
I went with the Wyze camv4. Small footprint, sd card storage, color night vision etc. decent customization on the app. And $35 a camera.
Thanks for everyoneās input.
I dont think you will be disappointed. FWIW, you can share the feed with others via the app. Only the original account holder can review film from the app.
Share some feedback with us after youāve had a chance to run it through the paces. @mr.jeffdh
What solar panels do you use?

Didnāt see one that looked like a security cam.
Welcome aboard.
Just another spammer. He gone.
Looking at getting 2-4 of these to put outside around the property. Anyone familiar with these? Thanks

I personally use Wyze. They have some newer models that you might want to check out. They have solar panels also. I use several of the standalone cameras and one of their floodlight models. @GamecockOperator uses them also.
I have 3 Wyze cameras, door bell and thermostat. All the cameras can record to as card and the app is user friendly.
Remember Iām in the middle of the woods.
No neighbors
I want complete wireless, solar, Wi-Fi and no hub.
I can completely control these from my phone
These are made for outdoors
They appear to check all my boxes just curious if anyone is familiar with them or the brand.
Thanks again ![]()
Wyze has all that as well. I donāt know that brand, just giving you what I use. All cameras will need you to have a wireless router hooked to your internet connection and all of them will be limited to distance from said router. Iām not aware of a security cam that operates like a game camera (connects to cell phone network) that would be economical.
Both @GamecockOperator and I are in the IT world so feel free to ask questions in regards to routers, wireless stuff, distances, bandwidth, etc.
Perfect Iām going to research Wyze now. Thank you ![]()
Chatgpt recommended the other brand.
