gray and fde sw4 with nights were the only two slides left in the entire inventory that i could find without rmr cuts

edit: i feel like this will be perfect out the box without me feeling the need to modify anything

i think you have that backwards… they are not going to produce slides without optic cuts any more… so going forward all slides will have cutouts for optics.

while i agree with you here for the most part, the only way that flys for me is if the filler plates are a complete match for the color / pattern of the slide, so it blends in to the point of almost being unnoticeable. otherwise i’ll have to go elsewhere for slides myself.

Ah ok gotcha :ok_hand:t3:

Why would you not want the optics cut? PSA offers it you for free. Whereas machine shops charge $150 and even glock charges an extra $150 for their MOS optics cut variations. Its probably easier for PSA to maintain one type of base slide as a standard so win/win. Even if you never use it why wouldnt you want it? And if you ever go to sell it, there would most likely be someone out there that would pay a little extra because of the optics cut. Maybe I’m alone here, but I like getting free money haha.

Same reason I dont buy a convertible car knowing I’ll never use it. Or a 4x4 knowing I’ll never use it.

Why pay MORE for something you DONT want?
Also it’s an eyesore if you never use it. I don’t like seeing that plate screwed on top either. Especially when you have a black plate on a green or fde gun.

To each their own thou. I do have this and love it!

But I have a another slide without a Red Dot and a cut slide and it drives me nuts lol

You’re not paying more, PSA never upcharged for optics cut. They simply incorporated it as a standrd feature at no extra cost. I got an optics cut slide with threaded barrel for $200. To your analogy, it would be like having two exact model and year trucks, but one with 2x4 and one with 4x4 at the same price. And you’re opting for the 2x4 because you dont think youll ever use the 4x4. However the 4x4 will always resell for more money. Same thing with the optics cut. Like i said if you hate free money thats fine. Personally I like free money. Maybe you could send some my way

That is a bad analogy. 4x4 trucks are more expnesive to maintain and are more time consuming to maintain.

Base model irons only daggers were $299.99 while the optics ready daggers are $349.99. You are paying $50 more if you don’t catch a sale so it’s not really “free”. With all the sales going around though it’s pretty easy to get an optic ready dagger for cheap if you buy frames and slides separately, especially with the upcoming holiday sales. Personally, I actually like the look of the optics plate and the fact I can add an optic in the future is a big bonus.

I mean youre also getting suppressor height sights so that could also explain the $50 price difference. Then again PSA pricing doesn’t make much sense to me because I bought my frame for $50 and my Dagger slide with optics cut, suppressor height sights and threaded barrel for $200. Actually I would have had to spend more money to get the base model non optics cut version you’re showing there. That’s why I considered the optics cut as “free”.

I live in wet hilly snowy PA. You have to drive about 500 miles before you start seeing people drive 2x4 trucks lol.

Sounds like you got a good deal then. The frames used to be $99 but now they are going for around $60. I hope they stay that way so I can get some extra frames for cheap.

I could see why people wpuld be peeved if PSA does in fact stop selling a sub $300 base gun and people are pushed to spent more on things like optics cuts. Idk I just would be surprised if that were to happen. Ive gotten some insane deals from PSA to the point I wonder how they make money lol.

Born and raised in Indiana, PA. There were a couple 2WDs around but not many. Didn’t even know Toyota made a 2wd 4Runner until I moved down here to SC.

Just got it friday. The Gray SW4 will have to grow on me. I’ve never wanted the Gray Dagger stuff. But I love it since the price was right and night sights were included.

Two barrels are on the way. Just need more recoil spring assemblies. Oh and frames lol. But my FFL raised prices :slightly_frowning_face:. So I gotta find an alternate FFL.

I may or may not have a gray one. I like it all right.
