Alright. Some things to be said here and perhaps some folks that have more experience with PSA than I obviously do. Only have been a member for a bit now and technically was only my 5th or 6th time at PSA.
Went into one of the stores today and took a few rentals out.
One of the things I noticed first was they were VERY dirty. Okay fine, perhaps someone shot it earlier in the day or something.
Popped some rounds in and I had quite a few feeding issues with both weapons….
7/8 rounds, bit of a more rapid pace than usual and both guns kept friggon jamming on me. Every time…
It got annoying to sit there and clear a feeding issue with every reload. It bothered me a bit.
The other thing that bothered me was I mentioned on some other thread that I would probably purchase the Dagger this week, only after trying it.
They didn’t have one to rent and the guy at the counter had mentioned they decided to take them out and he couldn’t understand why. His words not mine.
I’m less annoyed by this than the feeding issues on both weapons I was experiencing. But how am I supposed to know if I like your product if I can’t try it out on the range as a member?
Anyone know if they will bring them back to try? I’m not going to blindly purchase one.
Yea man I’m NOT trying to be a pest here. I rarely complain, but, feeding issues where I had to spend time keep on clearing it out took away from the experience.
The dagger thing blew my mind. That’s got to be a great way to promote the product…
I’ll try again eventually but who knows when one will be available?
It depends on the store. Not every store has the same rental guns. Even then, not every gun is out to be available to rent.
The day we (the mods) toured Myrtle Beach the mini gun had just been delivered. The full autos were not available to rent yet. I think I am OK sharing these pics. Eventually they will be.
Okay. but… It’s not strange to you they don’t have a Dagger for a member to try before/if they decide to buy one? Especially considering it’s one of or if not thee flagship model? I don’t understand.
Edit: I will eventually try again. I’d reeeeeeallllllllllly like to fire it first Lol.
Not really. PSA knows its customer base. They know people will just buy the dagger. They know people wont buy full auto but would love to try it. I know that sounds convoluted but there is a lot of time spent on data trends and how that fits their company objectives.
@Manfred where are you? If in the midlands I will gladly meet you at the range on Fernandina. Free range time and I will provide the ammo. You can shoot my dagger, micro, and sabre.
that is a shame that you are so far from columbia, as I’d actually go with Guitar guy too with my dagger and sabre dagger and let you shoot them as well if you wanted. the more you get to shoot the more options of them you try the more you have to make a decision from.
psa rarely has had a dagger on the range here in columbia if i remember correctly. finding it in the range to shoot will be a very very lucky day in my opinion.. maybe next time you go to a psa store someone of us could meet you there and then let you shoot our daggers.
Now sadly the range guns usually do not get cleaned as often as they should be if you ask me from my observation. I do not know if they have a cleaning schedule based on days, round count/rental times/ etc… if it were me, I would have a mandatory inspection of each firearm after it returned from being rented by the range hands, and then a good cleaning every day, or every other day even if they dont look like they needed it. theres been plenty of times those range guys are just hanging around there doing nothing but holding up the counter. They could be cleaning up some of those guns. just my thoughts on it.
Honestly if someone was willing to meet me at Ridgeland, I’ll supply ammo and even throw you a $20 or something for a few minutes of your time. I just want to put my normal 20-30 rounds before I actually buy it. I do it with everything I buy weapon wise. If I haven’t shot it, I ain’t gon buy it haha.

Ya, totally. I didn’t have much time today as I had to run out with only an hour to spare on actual range time. I couldn’t agree more with doing a little scrub once in a while. It just took time away from actual shooting where having to constantly fix feeding and ejection issues. I could have put just a few more rounds though.
Not going to stop me from visiting though. An issue, yes, but a minor one on both fronts.
Well I guess I’m glad I’m not closer to a PSA location although I will be in Sommerville soon. Don’t know what it would cost to rent that G18 but I could burn through a Benjamin worth of ammo way too quick with that.
Another option is to come to the Gathering next spring. Shoot all you want for the ticket price. Come on Sat and we usually provide breakfast and swag bags.
