Suggestions for the Third Giveaway!

@jb091989 kind of like how some giveaways say “1 entry for liking our fb”, 1 entry for liking our instagram, 1 entry for following us on Twitter, etc.?

You could do something like that, which is real basic. My idea is more along the lines of a) post a article about gun news b) post a topic about gun industry innovations c) something educational that you learned. Are a few examples, there are tons of these ideas which makes it hard to run out of topics to engage; furthermore the idea here is to promote education and discussion that advances people interests in the gun world while simultaneously creating a gradually more educated forum members. So for each of these topic you engage you EARN points for a give a way “season” that refresh every season. Each point you earn gains you a entry into the give away. The result and intent would create 1) incentives to people to participate every season 2) keep ideas, news, 2a, industry, gun tech, etc on the forefront of gun loving Americans minds making them more well rounded 3) It would inevitably keep foot traffic active on your web-page which is obviously desired with spikes every “season” of give-aways. If you just have people like pages and follow PSA on social media it becomes stale and not interactive, compared to a interactive base will talk about PSA online and word of mouth which is free advertising.

I definitely feel like whatever you do for future giveaway, it should allow every forum member the chance to win. Perhaps having several entry tiers with improving chances to win? First tier would be very simple and easy. Higher level tiers would be more involved but give significantly better entry odds.

@josiahb1030 they did that with the first giveaway. There were honorable mentions. With this one though I am not sure how that would work. The biggest issue is people chosing numbers already already chosen. 1776 has been chosen close to 25 times if I am counting correctly.

I agree. I think the choosing a number thing was weird, unnecessary, and frustrating. Whatever they do, everyone who participated should be guaranteed at least 1 entry chance to win.

I always believe in the KISS method. However, I do appreciate the fact that the giveaways are for forum members. Now, in order to generate increased forum membership, put the word out - as others have said - on social media. Also, put a banner up on the website. Add notification of the forum with the owners manual of any firearm purchased, etc.
As for giveaways, I think that a weekly or monthly selection of random forum members to win swag, gift certificates, store credit, etc. would be great. Then, you could also do a quarterly giveaway of accessories/product of “X” value. Followed by a bi-annual or annual giveaway of a weapon of winners choice, combined with a paid trip to the factory to see it being built, and added ammo & swag.
This what I’d like to see happen anyway. Best wishes to all and keep up the good work PSA!

Everyone is guaranteed an entry and has equal chance to win. These type of giveaways have happened on many firearm forums and work well…depending on if the instructions are read.

It all seemed extremely clear when I read the instructions. The only minor difficulty if one didn’t read the instructions I could see would be using the search function in your browser to see if your number had already been selected.

Who won the second one?

It officially wraps up at the end of tomorrow and we plan to announce the winner on Tuesday.

How about a clean, firearm related meme contest? Maybe only allow one meme per member?
The one with the most likes, wins. If there is a tie then the entrants have to fight it out in Thunderdome.

A giveaway for a PSA firearm product, along with 500 rounds of ammo for… a training weekend at respected and established firearms training firm. Would be great for the PSA product to be the item(s) run at the class so operator can provide feedback on its real-world application. Just my $.02, carry on with your day.

I like the idea of getting a full gun with ammo too.

I still enjoy photo contests as well as lower design contests!

The only problem is that these type of contests can lead to fake voting and friend voting, etc. It would be cool to limit votes to 1 per person somehow!

@RocketFoot we do limit it to 1 per person. As your account here is based on your PSA account there is an extra step involved to make sure people are not voting more than once.

Perfect! That is good to know! I enjoy participating when it is fair! I don’t even bother entering Classic Firearm’s contests because they can be manipulated so badly!

Thanks for the opportunity to win, PSA!!

something small and weekly to keep persons returning. Something like a scavenger hunt on the site - find the item based on clues and post what/where it is (drives traffic to the PSA site as well). First X number of correct responses receives something - a few hundred rounds of ammo, hat, shirt, charging handle, etc…

I did!

Guess the number of (X) caliber empty shell cases in a Jar/Bucket/Box/Bathtub. “Price is Right” rules - closest to guessing without going over wins. One guess per member. PSA Should be able to collect a week’s worth from one of the ranges and count out a bunch for a photo-op before sending it away for normal processing.

Maybe do multiple calibers in different sized containers for different prizes, but members have to choose one to guess for.

This could also work for the local stores. Members would have to visit a store and get pics of the item(s) and post them to the thread. First to collect all pics wins. This also drives traffic to the stores and promote a purchase while there. Nobody likes to waste a trip to the gun store.
