Thread Protector Removal

I just bought my AK P build receiver and I want to mount a Dead Air muzzle brake on it. How to I remove the barrel thread protector for the Krink device? I could not find a video on YouTube, and are the PSA barrels concentric?

If you have a krink muzzle device, just use a very small screwdriver or something to depress the index pin and the krink will freely turn off of the front sight base. The AKP is threaded for 24x1.5 RH.
Hopefully the device you want to add is threaded for 24x1.5. If not…… Griffin Armament makes an adapter 24x1.5RH to 5/8x24 RH. It screws onto the FSB……but it indexes squarely against the face of the end of the barrel. (Well it should anyway). You can mount just about any device you want on that 5/8x24. Although PSA does not make any claims of concentricity……there are many forum members here that run these AKs with suppressors. You will have to ensure concentricity of your own. I have AK 104 with the Griffen Adapter and I use both….a 30 cal and a 9mm suppressor on my PSA AK. . If you can get your muzzle device made fit the 24x1.5……it would be better than using the adapter. I had to use the adapter for my application because my suppressor maker does not make an muzzle device big
enough for the 24x1.5.

Good luck and post some pictures of your AKP

Check with Jmac customs:

I have their keymo for my AR and it’s great. I also got the LAF and it’s awesome! Both are done very well and perform as intended.

Also they are licenced by DeadAir to make the Keymo/etc… mounts.
