I ordered a Timney Alpha Glock Gen 3-4 trigger for testing. The trigger is awesome, installation was almost exactly like the video on Timney’s web site. Remove the stock trigger, trigger bar, trigger springs until all you have is the disconnector and the plastic box that housed the parts. You do not have to do anything with the slide or striker. Install the new parts into the frame, the trigger return spring is not hard to install if you follow the steps in the installation video on Timney’s web site. My trigger weight measured out at 2 pounds 8 ounces and very crisp.
I polished all the contact points and I had replaced the striker safety plunger spring when I had tried installing a Ghost trigger kit earlier, the striker spring was changed back to factory, I have NO light primer strikes at all. I hope this will help anyone who is thinking of using this trigger.
Any issues with light primer strikes or issues other wise? What’s the round count on the new Timney? Also what kinda ammo have you tried it with ie: brass, steel, aluminum? Really want to try a Timney out and needing just a little more positives to finally grab one lol.
Any new feedback on your Timney Trigger? I have a Gen 5 in my Glock 19 and I LOVE IT! I want to install one in my Dagger Full Size, but I am finding a lot of negative reviews. Thanks in advance!
I put one in my original dagger compact…. I used the heavy trigger return spring and was still having trouble with trigger reset….got an extra power one from Johnny Glock…. Problem solved……
I had replaced all the daggers striker stuff with some high speed stuff from back in the day and started getting a light strikes on my reloads…. I went back to a standard striker spring …. Another problem solved…,
I was reading some posts the other day on mag release being hard to push….I ordered some reduced power springs…. If that doesn’t do it I’m gonna try a trick we used to do on revolver leaf springs back in the day…. Shave down the sides of the rod…… I’m sure that will work but I’ll keep you posted….
Oops…… I forgot to mention…. I just took advantage of the two frame deal ……I took the Timney out of the compact and dropped it into the full-size…. Runs like a champ….
