Nice score. I checked Bud’s Monday but didn’t see it, and I still don’t.
It was listed at $629 yesterday.
Hmmm,
I don't know what to tell you Jammo? I was having breakfast after working all night and while I was waiting on my food. I was banging out emails to Tisas USA , then followed their Distributors Search List.
I’ve received the Typical Confirmation emails from them since.
I have sent them an Inquiry email to insure this isn’t a big mistake on their part? The picture clearly showed the Raider in FDE… even had the Raider Logo side as the Pic.
Strangely, I started years ago working from the bottom of lists like that and found success doing that. I do it fairly regularly now.
I just received an email response from Bud’s confirming the purchase was for a Raider in FDE.
The email went on to say. That if anything shows up that isn’t what I requested? Deny the Transfer and Contact them immediately.
Update…Shipped Today
Arriving at the FFL Friday.
I heard Bud’s had 5 or 6 up during Shot for $599
Glad you got one of them.
I scored #5…they went Zero Stock after I scored mine.
Like with all things. Bud’s has an annual Membership Fee of around $30 a year…and Advertised pricing reflects a Cash Discount…nothing is ever as it seems.
All said and done with taxes and shipping. I was in at $735.00 total. $705 had my Membership been up to date.
And that’s probably why I missed the option to buy, I didn’t renew my Team Bud’s membership. That also gives you advance notice.
Kicking my own xss now.
Wait and see how mine turns out before you Kick anything too hard. ![]()
Mine is at the UPS Distribution Center in Charlotte right now. My FFL will probably get it by 3pm tomorrow.
Depending on how my night goes? I’ll get it late tomorrow or early Saturday.
I hate it when Work gets in the way of my good times.
I can’t wait for you to get it and give me your thoughts on it.
I’ve been high on Tisas since my first one. I think you picked up one soon after with the wood grips.
I hope the Raider doesn’t disappoint.
You are absolutely correct.
Without a doubt. I based this Tisas Raider purchase 100% off of the results and satisfaction of the previous Tisas 1911 WG purchase.
I’m expecting nothing less than complete satisfaction…but you’ll get a No ,No No Word assessment once I bust a few down range.
It’s going to get a thorough teardown, inspection and lube before the 1st round is chambered…bank on that.
I’m hoping the Raider is such a Show Stopper that its Turkish Counterpart from Girsan can become trade bait…and that’s Not hurling rocks at the Girsan variant of the same pistol.
im interested in seeing how the pistol performs first and foremost before i will bite on it. so when you get it, be sure to get out there and pop off a few thousand rounds before you do anythihng to it. ![]()
I’ve resolved to change Nothing that is noticeable at a glance…including sights.
If I find internal parts , wear items lacking? Then like any other weapon , it gets replaced on an as needed basis.
I hope you get to pick it up tomorrow.
Yes Sir,
Got the Proof of Delivery and the obligatory call from the FFL while I was sleeping today. Just too much going on to make the trip to get it.
Got another All Nighter , then my weekend starts at 0630. Typical Saturday…celebrate an end to a long week with Breakfast with a group of fellow Veterans at a local spot.
0830 I have an appointment to have a Slow Leak repaired on a tire on one of my cars…one of those aggravating Slow Leak types that are real temperature sensative. Gotta resolve this…then I’ll get a chance to play guns.
Got it home…picked up 2 Extra MecGar 8 Round Mags.
1st impression is very positive. Fit and Finish is outstanding.
No Rattles anywhere .
The Raider engraved Logo is way smaller than one’s seen on the early Prototype or Shot Show Promo pistols…No Complaints in saying so
Sights adequate…but they sure aren’t the Colts Trijicons . To be expected at the price…Duh.
Markings U. S. Is rollmarked on the top of the right side Pic Rail / Dust Cover.
Tisas of Knoxville Tn. Is located aft of the push out side of the Slide Stop… very discreet.
The Only markings denoting country of origin Turkiye is on the Pic Rail forward of the trigger guard. Blink or forget to wear your Cheaters and you will miss it. Nicely Done.
Just from handling alone…the Tisas outshines the competing Girsan without question.
Machining and Internal finishing is On Par or Exceeds that of any Mid Range 1911 I’ve encountered recently . I’d put it in proximity of Springfield Armory , better than Rock Island Armory’s Top End stuff… and again way better than Girsan.
Unlike Rock Island Armory…it does not arrive with it’s own Oil Slick and need of an EPA Superfund budget to clean it up…to the contrary it does need the Slide Rails Lubricated before doing any shooting.
Slide and Frame fitment and function is Tight and Smooth…if it had a sister with a moraly casual attitude? , I’d never leave the house. ![]()
One thing I wasn’t keen on was the Barrel Link…that was not as refined as I would have liked…but that’s an easy fix later on.
That a fine piece of hardware you got there. At your earliest, could you post details of range time with your thoughts of how it shoots?
Yes Sir…Ive been awake since 4pm yesterday…so hanging out shooting today was just not in the cards.
Keep in mind…the Grips on the Girsan are my aftermarket add on.
Clearly Tisas went farther at capturing the Spartan features of the Colt M45A1.
Girsan went wrong direction with its rollmarks and safety Engravings… the black external controls on the Girsan are nice Offsets …just not the spirit of the genuine article.
