With a Gen 2 slide my Dagger won’t dryfire without pushing the trigger hard to the left.

Gen 2 slides will work. In fact every generation of slide will work on the Dagger frame. I suspect something else may be going on. What’s your engagement look like with the firing pin. Any aftermarket parts in the frame?
Edit: I should have said, any generation of 19 slide can be made to work… However the gen 2 slides are functionality no different than gen 3 slides which is why I suspect something else is going on. Gen 4 and 5 slides utilize a dual coil recoil spring and have a much larger “nose” around the front of the spring pocket on the slide. Modification is needed to the frame to accommodate and a gen 4/5 style recoil spring with adapter is necessary.

i know the gen3 slide works very well on gen4 frames… never actually got my hands on a gen1 or gen2 i started when gen4 was already out but got a new gen3 19 just for a CA compliant pistol… this part is awesome if you do run it on a gen4 frame Slide Adapter Plate (G-SAP™) for GLOCK™ GEN3 to GEN4

Brand new lower with no modifications. Slide has all original parts except a/m suppressor height sights.
Scrape marks on the rear of trigger bar in the second picture are more off to the right compared to my co workers 357sig. Plus the picture doesn’t show well, but it looks canted to the left lower.
The third picture shows the slope to be much more aggressive than the 357sig as well.

I’m not seeing anything unusual. We need to see the cruciform to firing pin lug engagement with the slide in question installed with an armorers back plate. I suspect you have just a hair too much engagement with that particular slide to reliability release the firing pin.

Thank you for your quick and kind info! I took it apart tonight and found the connector was flat against the trigger housing. A little tweaking and now dry fires fine. I was hoping not to disassemble a new lower but that’s life.
Love the size and texture of the grip!!! It’s everything I hoped it would be.
