Reading comprehension is important.: My comment referred to the ATFE rule only. Bringing a loaded weapon or explosive onto an airliner is a different matter covered by DOT regulations not the 1934 attempt to outlaw handguns.
The photo shown is of a pistol fitted to a KAK Industry Shockwave Blade. That is a pistol brace that can only be fitted onto a KAK pistol buffer tube. The pictured M4 plastic butt would be useless on the handgun pictured.
yeah, i mean when i read / watched the story i wasnt even thinking about the 120 brace grace days. I was more concerned with the preexisting atf rulings before that concerning intent as a Sbr with the old stock and the brace, not to mention the idiot not knowing how to travel on an airplane with a weapon. He would have had to have a locked case, all mags empty and ammo stored in a seperate case/package/bag, and then checked both at the counter clerk before proceeding to the TSA boarding checkpoint. Ugh… so much wrong with this guys actions… you’d think a 53 year old man would have learned what he needed to do. that said, this has to be deliberate… the questions why did he deliberately do this. . once we have answers for all that,
the more i think of it, the more i think the whole thing was setup or something. it just doesnt make logical sense why anyone would do this unless they had nefarious intent of some sort.
New Orleans to Houston? Just drive. You save money and avoid headaches like dealing with airlines, the TSA, crowds, lousy food, etc. You also don’t waive your Constitutional rights like you do when you fly.

And are you telling me if I order multiple parts for multiple builds from PSA at the same time, and some are pistol braces, lowers, etc, and some are rifle buffers and stocks that I have “intent” to commit a felony? The "intent" thing has been around a long time and it's Nothing I'm remotely fond of either. These kind of things are " Catch All's" that attempt to stack the deck in the ATF's favor when taking a case to court.
I don’t keep calling his Pistol an SBR. The ATF by means of the Rule of Intent does. Don’t shoot the messenger as they say.
I agree a collection of parts is just a collection of parts…but in this case you had a fully functioning Pistol isolated with a part that could contribute to making it an SBR with the addition of One more piece, that being the correct Reciever Extension. Yes this is splitting hairs but this is exactly how sleezy things are regarding anything to do with an AR-15 anymore.

I built my AR’s and eventually AR pistols as a fun pastime and hobby, cause I like tinkering with guns, and just to have something different. NOT to be a felon or to circumvent any laws. Making something illegal doesn’t make it any safer. I have no confusion about what it is…It is a gun…which was made to kill. Illegally outlawing it and making me an outlaw for having what was a perfectly legal gun is not going to make society safer.
We had the New Director of the BATFE in Charlotte today. He was Pandering to a Sympathetic Audience of ladies known locally as M.O.M.O. . Aka Mothers of Murdered Offspring.
