Warranty Repair problems

I bought the AK-P GF3 furniture ready barreled receiver and found a problem. The screw that holds the hinged dust cover to the rear sight base was stripped, not the threads, but the hex key opening in the screw. It appears this was done at the factory and never corrected. I noticed it was loose so I went to tighten it and saw it was stripped. I never even used the hex key because I could see it was stripped before trying.
I submitted a warranty claim more than a month ago. All I wanted was for them to send a new screw, just one new screw. I received an email saying they would contact me in 7 days. After a couple weeks of hearing nothing I sent 2 more emails requesting an update. Now more than a month, I have not heard from anyone at PSA. At this point I would buy the screw but I can’t find it on the website.
Is this normal for PSA warranty repairs?

Its not normal.
My suggestion would be this: either CALL (we all know sometimes emails can be lost, undeliverable, spam folder, etc.) or take the screw out and go to Lowes and find the one you want. Lowes, Home Depot, etc have the little gauge with nuts on it so you can find the thread pattern. An easy out bit may be needed to get it out. If you don’t have one of those, I recommend buying whether you need it or not, because at some point you will strip a screw, whether on a gun project or around the house project.

Thanks for your reply.
I took your advise and called them. They were just sitting on it and not doing anything with it, not sure why.
A nice lady said they would ship a new screw out, I asked them if they could do it in a reasonable amount of time since I’ve been waiting more than a month. My RDS can’t hold zero on the dust cover with the lose screw.
To be clear, the screw will come right out, it was lose when I received it. When I went to tighten it I could see it was striped, so I didn’t even try to tighten it, didn’t want to create a situation where I couldn’t remove it.

Thanks GuitarGuy for your advise.

Just a follow up to say I received the new screws today (they sent 2 screws with fast shipping!) and I had great communication from customer support via email.
I’m not sure what the hold up was but after 1 phone call it was quickly resolved!
I’ve already installed the new screw , and now I can zero the red dot.
Very happy with PSA’s quick response!!!
