I carry a Cold Steel Bush Ranger Lite.
That’s awesome.
I gotta try and make one of those! They are cool
I’m not sure what steel they used for the blade. But I just used this knife to gut, skin, and debone my buck without touching a stone anytime in the process. The edge can def use a touch up now, but not dull either.
If the blade was a half inch longer, I think it would be perfect.
I’m not sure, I’m looking into that now. I’m betting 10xx steal. It’s definitely an older one tho, not saying your old, but it’s a carbon steel and usa made. Shards are no longer usa made or carbon steel
The Rat-1 is my EDC too. I actually have several in different colors and even have a couple of Rat 2’s. Excellent knives for a very competitive price.
IF the sheathed knife is short enough, and IF the sheath holds it securely enough, and IF you can get that metal clip off without damaging it; consider a paracord loop on the bottom-most hole, just long enough to drop upside-down into your off-hand pocket and secure the loop on your belt.
When you need it, just grab the cord (with either hand) and pull out of your pocket - then slide down the sheath and handle, grip it securely, and a quick “yoink” and Bobrinov’s yer Krazy Russian Unkle…
Thanks for the tip! The handle sticks out of my pocket when in the sheath and handle up. The clip is removable or adjustable (alignments). The sheath has an adjustable retention (enough so it’s hard to pull knife out of sheath). Still might try out the paracord in various configurations. Thanks Again!
Be careful, it’ll come out accidentally and stab you. I knew a guy that carried a double edge on his calf, it worked its way out, pierced an artery and took 10 stitches. And that was a full length leather scabbard with handle strap and button snap. Just carry a P320 and shoot yourself in the leg like everyone else ![]()
P.S. :

These are my current three that I cycle through. The Milwaukee is the work knife that has been a hammer and a screwdriver over the years along with a bait knife and steak knife/cooking utensil. With different blades of course. The two Kronos knives are my going out blades that are just too nice for work.
