From the article alone, it sounds like the man who had the injuries from the shotgun rounds exploding in the magazine is grasping at any potential straws. It sucks for the dude who got 2nd and 3rd degree burns from, according to the article, no fault of his own. I don’t think it’s going to go far with PSA or Rock Island but… Blackwater might be in some trouble. This “voluntary recall” might get them off the hook but I don’t know.
Also, was this a tube fed or mag fed shotgun? From what the article said, the recall was because the rounds would detonate prematurely in a tube fed shotgun. My guess, primers that were sitting a little proud so they could be vulnerable would cause an ignition and chain reaction in a tube. If it was mag fed, when he chambered that 5th round to load the 6th, my guess would be the primer was struck before fully chambered causing a chain reaction into the mag.
Idk…couple of beers and some deep thinking that brings me no benefit.
Also, the “Post and Courier” seems like they are trying to have a hit piece on PSA. Mentioning several other things that don’t relate but could only paint a negative shade. Like mentioning President Trump when he visited and and the Trump gun.
PSA is solely named because they “sold” the gun. It will be dismissed.
Yes sir.
Useless attention grap by P&C.
@Welder
another bullshiet hit peice to try to get PSA in a bad l ight.
That’s not the first one from them IIRC. Which is surprising to me bc PSA employs so many people in that area.
I’ve been looking at that, thinking they same thing.
I would suggest figuring out how to duplicate what happened by some means that doesn’t involve a person racking the slide. The original Myth busters would figure a way to do it…
Not at all for fun, but to isolate and identify cause.
I think some folks think that firearms are for entertainment nowadays, rather than their intended purpose. How many people in videos barely escaping loss of limb or their life shooting at refrigerators full of tannerite. Oh yeah, they like to shoot at acetylene and oxygen tanks too.
Inexperienced people out there too, trying to go full Hooah, when they should just be checking oil and tire pressures in the motorpool…
This was at least 51% user error in my opinion. Using bobo DS slugs that were under recall says that much. Even I know better.
Not to mention the cat loaded a shotgun wrong and (if we’re being honest) probably had his finger resting on the trigger.
The ammo in question was recalled around four months after this dude’s mishap occurred…
I can’t help but notice that every media/social media outlet that’s chiming in on this is framing PSA as the main defendant in this suit.
Attorneys don’t care if PSA is at fault or not
they have the deepest pockets ![]()
Our media punishes the little guy that makes it.
I will send you a PM.
If i understand correctly you had a live round in the chamber, hand cycled to eject it (it would have ejected if it had been shot) and that is what blew? Did you pull the trigger?
