Any ideas why anything involving a Rock frame suddenly went OOS from the site about 5 days ago all at once and haven’t come back yet? All of the complete pistols and individual frames that were in stock poofed at once…
other than the uncanny possibility that everything just sold out at the same time, i have no idea.
it wouldnt surprise me though that they may be making a change to the website regarding the rock stuff and they pulled it all until they had the changes done.. but idk.. maybe @sean.psa can let us know something more?
On arfcom Josiah said they would be bsck shortly. Think they are doing a SKU change.
My theory was maybe a batch issue with one of the internals they’re fixing. Just a curiosity. ![]()
I am unfortunately out of the loop on this one. I reached out to mfg but haven’t heard anything back.
Hopefully not a recall…
Havent seen or heard anything about a recall
probalby a re-do on the sku’s and stuff.. they’ll be back asap.
You might have been right about this one!
I just got my FDE Compact… When it arrived it was very well used with gunpowder all inside of it, way over oiled, skin smut in the slide serrations. And to top it off… The striker and firing pin were separated.
I’m thinking something happened and they sent out some returns by accident? I dunno but I’m waiting for customer service to get back to me. This is my first online firearm purchase and I was hoping (as a new FFL and a certified firearms instructor) to be able steer people this way since I’m a fan of the 5.7 and the customizability of the rock was alluring
Oh… I just saw a post with plastic damage on the striker housing portion of the slide? It appears I have that too… So this definitely was a return of some sort. I’m hoping this isn’t normal practice for PSA ![]()
Can you post some pics?
welcome to the forums.. photos will help.
Hey folks! Had a busy weekend and a busy monday. I sent them vids of the separated firing pin… It’s telling me new users can’t upload media.
They asked for the shipping label (but like… I didn’t have one from the FFL I picked it up from) but I am sending them pictures of the serial number and used gun concerns.
Hopefully I can upload from my laptop when I get home. You’ve got to see it to believe it.
There was so much lube on the slide that when I wiped a bit of it off I thought I was seeing things. The slide itself is actually worn through the cerakoted rails
That looks exactly like mine did and i bought from the store. They do a decent amount of test firing on these.
Thank you, I felt like I’d come off sounding like a smart ■■■ if I said something.
That said, this is good to know. I’ll await PSA customer service re: the broken firing pin… I’ve bought FN, Glock, Ruger, and other stuff and it’s never been like this out of the store, so I’m a little surprised to get a used gun for new price.
Maybe I had my expectations too high? I’ll make sure to keep that in mind and I appreciate you all giving me the scoop!
The shavings? Yes the extractor does it’s job well. I’m confused on the broken firing pin. Do you have a pic of that. That will slow down as it breaks in.
Extractor does its job? I don’t understand that part. Why is the extractor ripping the brass apart when pulling the casing from the chamber? That’s actually a little scary, no? Sounds like a recipe for a jam, right?
I dunno. I’m not happy with the condition of the product as it is right now, given my previous experience with purchased firearms. I’m really looking forward to PSA doing something about this.
I’ve sent them the videos and more pictures detailing what I received. If they decide not to warranty it or repair it, I’ll just eat the cost of a lost firearm and steer clear of PSA going forward. It’s not an acceptable condition to send a new product in, in my experience.
