What kind of jacket is the gold 9mm bullet? Looks to be the same color as brass. I’ve seen this ammo type before but 99% of the time I shoot CCI blazer brass which is copper jacketed lead. Was just curious what the gold color jacket was. Bought 400 rounss of magtech ammo
Probably Tula FMJ.
Could it be lacquered or polymer coated lead bullets?
Oh I see. Its a copper zinc mixture which gives it a gold like color instead of the normal color or copper. I’m betting the zinc mixture reduces the cost slightly since its cheaper than copper.
If it’s Magtech is CBC. Made in Brazil with gilding metal jacket.
CCI and Berry’s - Copper Plated projectiles. These can be fired at higher velocities than lead ones but the velocity will be less than FMJ.
CBC, S&B, Fiocchi - 15 % tin gilding metal. They look yellow.
All other American FMJ - 10 % tin gilding metal.
Norinco, Warsaw Pact, early Yugo - Steel jacketed thin copper plating or galvanized (zinc coated) to prevent corrosion.
Hi Tech coated like American Eagle Syntech - Lipstick ammo. Polymer coated - can be any color.
To me it looks like Prvi Partizan, but the headstamp will provide more information. Maybe you could post a picture of that too.
Thanks for the info! It looks very similar to S&B ammo presumably same as PPU. Like i said, 9 times out of 10 I shoot CCI which is normal looking copper. It was only by happen stance I started seeimg the gold colored rounds recently which drove my curiosity. Wasnt sure if this was something new or i just happened to see it and then buy it shortly after.
Its magtech but looks similar if not the exact specs. Will have to try it out, never shot it before. I ordered from Ammunition Depot. I usually order my ammo from PSA but Ammo Depot gave me free shipping and i got the ammo 48 hours of placing my order. The are giving PSA a run for their money for my ammo orders lol.
They might sell that 9mm ammo at PSA.
Not sure but you might be able to buy that at PSA by checking out their 9mm ammo selection.
