I been wanting to add a folding brace to my AKV but the PSA CUSTOM AK PICATINNY STOCK ADAPTER ASSEMBLY is never in stock. I never get the back in stock email either. Will any other company’s fit?
Welcome to the Forums! I dont know any other manufacturers that have this style adapter for the AKV, but I’m sure that some people in here who are a lot more knowledgeable with AK parts will chime in soon.
If you remove the flat picatinny rail on the back of an AKV pistol you can get what PSA calls the “puzzle piece” that slides in and makes the rear of the AKV just like the standard rear trunnion of an AK47. From there you have several options of standard AK stocks (SBR’d) or VLTOR makes an AR buffer tube that slides into an AK rear trunnion, then you can use whatever AR style brace/stock is out there.
CNC Warrior makes a really cool folding brace that you might want to check out, it may not require that assembly piece but I can’t remember.
Thank you very much for the info. It is much appreciated but I have the are stock and want to change it for a folding brace.
You should be able to just add an AR folding stock adapter between buffer tube and (for lake of the correct term) the receiver the buffer tube threads into.
Check out some options here. Then you would just add whatever brace you want to the end of the tube. Many braces fit on a standard carbine buffer tube now, or you could replace the buffer tube to a pistol buffer tube.
Hope that helps.
I’ll see if I can get any sort of an update as to when our adapters will be available again individually. If you haven’t heard an update from me in a little while, remind me. It can be hard to keep up with some of the answers I’m looking for sometimes. My list gets pretty marked up.
OMG! That is an incredibly simple and obvious solution. I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of it. I’ve been obsessed with trying to find the AKV specific adapter from PSA that It never occurred to me. Thank you very much. I’ll post a pick here when it’s complete maybe it will help someone else. Thanks!
Im at the same crossroads. Can you tell me your solution and maybe some pics? thank u
What exact set up do you have?
