Reason why I want the 5.56 AK = 5.55 lake city brass… im literally sitting on a mountain top of it! Its cheap, easy to get, and can take a beating! Not only is 5.56 very easy to reload for, BUT is very inexpensive even during covid times if you look hard enough and set up those email notifications! Was able to get 1k pcs of 5.56 once fired brass from a gentleman off facebook for $70 last month, still sitting on a stockpile of varget before everything went covid stupid, just snagged 1100pcs of 60grn vmax today, and I’m actually having good luck getting primers at the local scheels at pre covid prices. Add that with the 5.56 LRBHO with pmags & numerous other features! Awesome … 5.56 should be a rather accurate and im itching to get some load development done ASAP once I can get my hands on this bad boy!
@elfers I know a lot of customers who want the 5.56 Jakl agree with you because they don’t want to purchase another caliber of ammo. I think I may bet a 300blk just for fun though as well. Still haven’t decided yet!
@GamecockOperator I talked with engineering. We plan on doing a 5.56 pistol in the long-term future.(Not this year) We have not decided if it will be in a Krink style or the AK-P style. I will update in the future as things progress!

Now that ammo is finally returning to the store shelves at their normal prices….what we learned was that 7.62x39 was the caliber that was consistently available at the lowest prices.
Before the Pandemic, my son and I built a 5.56 AR for him & a 7.62x39 PSA KS47 for me. During the entire Pandemic he suffered from Ammo Scarcity……while I maintained a steady supply of x39.
He just purchased a new PSA AK-103 and enjoys the low cost of ammo now. I have an AR and an AK that shoots 5.56……but I rarely shoot them.
My go-to-guns are the KS47 and the PSA AK104…both chambered in the EverAvailable 7.62x39….and still at the low price of $6.99 per box of 20.
@Josiah_PSA with Russian ammo import ban, please rush 5.56 AK plans if possible. I would volunteer to be a beta tester .
Zastava has their own magazine pattern currently but they used an adapter for ar15 mags in the past. Also, I have a pile of Galil surplus mags that function well…
