Has the PSA AK-556 been discontinued or is it going to be? Noticing some models that are out of stock are “closeouts”. Just curious.
Not sure. They closed out some older versions that weren’t selling well or needed updates. The AK market is pretty dead thanks to expensive ammo. They may bring it back in the future but we dont know.

the coolest thing about the ak was it being a 10-22 with some recoil action.. when the ammo became expensive it just became more novelty

For a while, AKs in 5.56 were considered something of a cheat code…all the panache of the AK ‘look’, but chambered in something that was easy to get and cheaper to stock.
I think even that has kind of cooled off. People looked at the proprietary magazines and parts and thought ‘I can just get a cheap AR’. So they did.
Don’t get me wrong. I love my 5.56 AK and I won’t be without one, but I get why they’re not as popular as something that has so much aftermarket support, like the AR.
People have to really want one.

meh, theres something about a 30 cal bullet though.. the original 7.62x39 ak is awesome..it may not be the most accurate of guns, but dang man its a killer gun to have and alot of fun to shoot. I get the rounds arent that inexpensive anymore as they were when we had surplus ammo from Russia, but people like AAC with their line of ammo are trying to help bring down the prices of it by producing it as much they can. we can hope that others do too..
I dont know if the PSA Ak556 is discontinued or if they’re gonna re-release it with an updates or put a better upgraded version under sabre idk.. who knows.. i would hope they wouldnt discontinue the line entirely but only time will tell.
