Ak .308?

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone knows whether PSA has ever mentioned plans to bring a .308 AK to the market one day?
Personally, when I saw this year’s SHOT poll and there was a .338 AK variant as an option I was pretty surprised that they went with that over a .308. I think it would be a really cool and slightly more affordable option than some of the competition out there. Not to mention with PSA’s resources, they could do unique variants that Zastava and Riley DON’T do, like lighter carbine variants (12-14" etc).. I know that Cameron said there isn’t a whole after the Vuk coming, but one can dream right lol

Doubtful right now. The AK market is dead, so dead it put KUSA out of business. Until cheap surplus ammo is back (which means Ukraine/Russia is done) the AK market will probably stay dead.

Market or Jesse James? Now that I think about it; likely both.

Cheap surplus ammo is never coming back. That was a unique byproduct of the Cold War ending. Even when the Russo-Ukrainian war is over sanctions won’t be lifted.

Well maybe theyll fix it with ak’s in common calibers. Like 300blk/556/308

Doubtful. For everyone excited about the non 5.45 versions of the krink they had 5 who complained.

That’s just internet community bias. Internet communities are disproportionately made up or enthusiasts and this tends to create “echo chambers” which in turns leads to false presumptions on a given things overall popularity.

AK communities on the internet are going to be filled purist and collectors who want 5.45x39 all gassing each other up. In reality the average normie who rarely shoots their guns to begin with can’t be bothered with a proprietary version of 5.56 that cost 2-3x as much per round. Why do you think the AK market recently has shifted so strongly t
