Does this include speed loaders?
Dave W. on May 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The ammo comes on 10 rd Clips. There are 3 Clips in each cardboard box. There is one spoon in the can you can use to load most mags like GI mags or Pmags.
Is ammo can metal?
Danny T on May 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, standard .30cal ammo can with the rubber o ring seal.
Is this green tip?
Matt T on May 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No. XM855 type part numbers would be green tip.

XM193 is the plain tip 55 grain fmj.
Is this steel.core?
Taz2k on May 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, it's xm193. Superior in my opinion.

It's OK
It's ammo, it shoots and puts holes in things. It does what it is supposed to do.

Great Ammo, Great Price, blah blah blah, take my money PSA!
No reason to buy steel cased with prices like this on good brass. Stock up if you have a lot of hungry mouths to feed.

What it says on the tin
Mil-spec 55gr ball. I have fired about 100 rounds out of this can (not my first can, by the way), and it is what it says it is. My lower-twist uppers do slightly better with this offering than the 62 M855, but there is not such a difference that it makes a practical difference. Brass is good, annealing is consistent if not always perfect, and the rounds are clean if not 'polished' like some .223 commercial offerings. This is military AR food, which prioritizes function over form, so that is to be expected.

So far (for both this can and the ones before it) there have been no FTF, FTE, dud or other ammo issue. Accuracy is good (not match ammo good, mind you - just good) and all my ARs like this, both the 5.56 chambered and the .223 Wylde ones. Velocities are nearly exact to spec out of the 20" rifle-length upper, and consistent to each other in all versions.

The ammo does not burn 'dirty', nor is it 'clean'. It is what you should expect from chemical propellant.

DGI and OpRod both have no issues with this stuff, though I find that DGI seems to like this stuff just a little more than OpRod (but that could be my personal impression).

When the price is right, and free shipping is offered, I usually grab a can or two of this stuff. It shoots well, keeps well (so long as you store it normally) and works well.

Note: if you are a 'collector' or overly anal-retentative, please be aware that this is XM193, so it will not have the wire-and-lead pinch seal on the can. I personally don't give a d@mn about that, being more interested in what is inside, but some people do. It was not marketed as being M193, so you shouldn't expect the lead seal. Besides, I have no use for lead that isn't in bullets anyway.

Bought while on sale...
Living on SSI is not easy, and a guy has to buy his ammo when he can. This is accurate and reliable... all the things I want in a round at the range or elsewhere.

Qualty Ammo at a Great Price
During these uncertain times, I pick up ammo when I can and it seems that PSA always has just what i am looking for. I am sure I could find less expensive ammo, but all my rifles just love Federal ammunition. Grab one or two of these when they offer free shipping. I like the fact that the rounds are packed in ten round stripper clips, and cardboards. If you are like me and like to pack the ammo in bandoliers, this is one of the easiest ways to do it. Semper Fi.
