Add To:

Built on the chassis of the Geissele SSA, the Super Semi-Automatic Enhanced (SSA-E) provides enhanced trigger control and weapon accuracy while maintaining the robustness and reliability of the combat-proven two-stage trigger. The SSA-E’s reduced first and second stage pull weights result in a trigger with a smooth, light first stage take-up and a crisp, candy cane-like second stage break.

It has a simple design similar to the original M16 trigger.  There are no adjustment screws to come loose and all springs are captive, they will not get lost during disassembly.  The entire trigger can be disassembled for cleaning and can be installed without removing the safety.

The SSA-E is ideal for use in precision Squad Designated Marksman type rifles where weapon accuracy and reliability are critical and a non-adjustable drop in trigger is desired.

geissle SSA-E trigger
I put a Geissele match trigger on my first build. Loved it! Unfortuninately it is rather pricey. I decided since my other ARs weren't as nice as the one I built I could live with the spec triggers on the other rifles. Then I bought a lower from Palmetto with a SSA-E trigger installed. I made a mistake of shooting the AR with the Geissele before I shot my M4. I literally had to check my M4 twice to make sure that it was loaded and the safety was disengaged because the trigger pull was so hard. Right there I decided that all my ARs were getting Geissele's. I do like my National Match trigger more because it is adjustable but for the the simplicity and the difference in price(on sale at Palmetto) I am really pleased. I ordered two more triggers! The two stage trigger is different but after I got used to it I like it. I really like it in fast target acquisition and firing. My next AR will also have a Geissele trigger.

Best Price Best AR Trigger I've Found
I have installed a few upgraded AR triggers. This is my favorite.

Works well as a Marksman Trigger while the short reset and total weight are acceptable for a Combat Trigger WITH PRACTICE. When the adrenaline is pumping that trigger will feel imperceptively light.

My other favorite is the LaRue MBT. It is smooth and a little heavier than the SSA with a slightly shorter reset making it a slightly better Combat Trigger and not quite as good a Marksman Trigger.

Triggers ARE subjective. I was a lifelong single-stage trigger guy (Timney). Now I prefer a 2-stage trigger and Geissele is my first choice. GET ONE OF THESE ON SALE. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY.

Clearly the black sheep here but I'm disappointed in this trigger (SSA-E). Ordered it because I wanted a really nice trigger for a 20" Coyote RRA. I'm not a competitive shooter mostly put holes in paper in the backyard. I was replacing a factory single stage that Bill Springfield worked over several years ago (for about $40). Also shoot a PSA Enhanced trigger ($30) and an ALG Defense (Advanced Combat Trigger - $~60) and both of these (single stage) shoot pretty well but have just a bit of creep or movement before they break. Both of these are worth the money as an upgrade to mil-spec.

The SSA-E pulls like silk through the first stage hits the wall where the second stage begins and then has some creep before it breaks. I really wanted to love this trigger ... but I can't. For what you pay this trigger shouldn't creep at all. Savage Accu-trigger breaks cleaner. Factory Tikka breaks cleaner ... and for $240 the Geissele has creep?

I don't think I'm being unreasonable? Based on all the positive reviews I really think (hope?) this is a fluke. Contacted customer service or to get replacement
Will update the review if/when I find resolution.

Greatest trigger on the market
Don't let the price fool you. You are not paying very much in comparison to what you're getting. I bought this trigger about 4 years ago for a hunting build and I've bought 3 more of them since. If the price was raised to $500 I'd still say it's worth every penny. You can do a $35 upgrade to an A2 trigger and have a decent trigger sure. You can get a RRA NM 2 stage and have a decent trigger as well but there's truly nothing that compares to a Geissele and I'll never buy anything else.

I picked this up on sale for my DD V11. A great rifle. But the Mil-Spec trigger was average at best. I am an AR newbie and was a little hesitant to do this install on my own. I watched the Geissele video on youtube and decided to go ahead and give it a shot. Installation was easy and quick...maybe 30 minutes but I took my time. I took the gun out to the range. Wow....What a difference. No more more wondering when the trigger would break. Simply a beautiful trigger. Makes a big difference for an average (at best) shooter. As everyone says the first upgrade should be your trigger now I see why. If you can get it on sale...don't hesitate! If not on sale buy it anyway! You will not regret it.
