SPEER LE® Gold Dot® Duty Rifle brings proven bullet technology to rifle platform. The Gold Dot® bullet was the first high performance, bonded-core bullet available in handgun ammunition, and has since set the bar for duty ammunition. The nation's number one law enforcement option is now available in rifle ammunition for agencies everywhere. These specially designed loads bring law enforcement rifle ammunition to the next level. Gold Dot rifle bullets are optimized to ensure expansion out of barrels down to 10" at a wide variety of velocities out to 200 yards. This kind of performance greatly increases the capabilities of duty rifles and gives law enforcement personnel a distinct advantage when it matters most. In addition, these new loads boast outstanding feeding in short, very short and standard length AR platforms. Like their handgun counterparts, the Gold Dot rifle bullets are constructed using Gold Dot technology. The process of joining the jacket and core one molecule at a time eliminates the potential for the leading cause of bullet failure—jacket/core separation. It also ensures impressive weight retention through barriers as tough as auto-glass. In addition to being tough, Gold Dot rifle loads boast outstanding accuracy. Exact tolerances and unprecedented bullet uniformity of jacket thickness give Gold Dot rifle loads outstanding accuracy. In addition, these loads feature flash suppressed propellants and a muzzle velocity of up to 3000 fps. The versatility, reliability and superior construction of the new Speer LE Gold Dot Duty Rifle loads allow law enforcement agencies to utilize this tested and proven bullet technology in duty rifles with complete confidence.

My go to ammo
I tested this ammo out of my 16"DPMS with a 1/9 twist and my Spikes/PSA build with an 18" 1/7 twist. The 16 was getting averaging 2450fps and getting 8moa. The 18 was averaging 2660fps and getting right at 1moa.

Similar results to Brian's prior review.
As already mentioned in Brian's earlier review the 75gr Gold Dot really is a good performer. I tested it on water jugs with very similar results. While I don't think it's even necessary to lead off with "for the money" when describing the value in this case PSA's price pretty well settled my indecision over what defensive ammo to feed my AR. Other ammo may be capable of greater precision at longer distances (haven't spent much time testing that) but as far as expansion is concerned and with barrier considerations in mind Gold Dot 75gr seems to be the way to go for those who want a heavier bullet for defensive purposes.

Best Ammo around
Cheap Accurate and has great features such as nickel plated bonded bullet barrier blind heavy weight for SBR's and long range shooting and soft point for controlled expansion. Cheap for the price as similar rounds can reach up to $1 a round or more. I got 1-2 inch groups at 200 yards so yes it is accurate! Bought 1000 of them when they were on sale and if I had more money I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Most bang for your buck
If you ever catch it on sale every like three months this ammo is FANTASTIC for the money. Used to be $9.99 and free shipping on X amount I bought it for $10.99 and bought 50 boxes and I think price will continue to go up. Even at $0.65 a round this round is accurate barrier blind and a heavy round for SBR/long range shooting. It is capable of 1 MOA easily as I could get 1-2 inch groups at 200 yards. I'd gladly sacrifice the ~0.5 moa accuracy compared to a dollar round like Hornady Superformance and save almost double the money. This round has the best quality for the money. 223 soft points w/ brass case go for around $0.42 cents for the cheapest brands like PPU and PMC. I spent $0.55 on a BONDED bullet barrier blind accurate nickel cased 75 gr round. Just buy it already.

Verry accurate
I shot this round out of my 12.5 BCM KINNO SBR (suppressed) and was able to achieve 1MOA at 50 yards without even really trying with a 2 MOA aimpoint (W/O magnification). This round is very accurate and has quiet a thump when it hits. I can also tell by where my brass lands compared to other rounds that it is a hot round. Would highly recommend!!!

My go to anyttime and mostly anthing round
Without question this is my daily go to round. Crows and ground hogs on the small side coyotes in the middle. I have taken deer and hogs with this quite effectively. I don't recommend for this but it does very well. I have over a thousand of them and I carry them every day always with me in my truck on a tractor. I shoot over fence posts tractor or wagon tires truck hoods - stuff like that. The projectile is a bit tough for small stuff but it works. It is light for Deer but it will work with good placement. It is a barrier blind load and a good self defense choice. It is a very accurate load. It's a .223 so it'll work in you Mod. 700. or your AR in a Mini or whatever else you may have. No it isn't the perfect round for anything special but it is especially suited for damn near anything in a pinch. That versatility endures it to me to no end. I have a couple hundred rounds of the trendy stuff some of that FBI'ish ammo. I have a thousand plus of this. And I use it every day for every day stuff. I work it hard sometimes but so far I've not asked too much from it.

Great round
I recently tried this ammo out and compared it to my usual range ammo (Tulammo 55gr fmj). I first tried it on cantaloupes. The cantaloupes held up to several shots of the 55gr but one shot with the 75gr tore them completely apart. Next were water bottles. The 55gr caused minimal damage splitting them open or punching a small hole where the water would then drain out. The 75gr left no doubt that the bottles had been hit as they were either in pieces or split open so severely that they were nearly inverted. Finally I tested them on a wooden pallet. The 55gr left a neat .22 sized hole in the wood. The 75gr however took jagged quarter sized chunks from the wood.I haven't used it for hunting but from what I have seen it would make a great hunting/HD round.

great long range round
My current Ar build only likes the heavy grain rounds which this fits perfect role. Same type of rounds issued to law enforcement for long range engagements as well cant bet price.

Great Ammo
This is the best shooting ammo that I have tried in my Colt 16" barrel 1/7 twist Thunder Beast suppressor with Timney trigger and Vortex scope set at 18 power. Groups were
50 yard group.821
100 yard group 1.263
200 yard group 2.32
300 yard group 1.75

Even more awesomer coyote ammo
I got 10 - 20 round boxes on sale for $9.99 wish I had more money woulda bought more good accuracy I shot Paper @300 yds The grouping was not as tight as Hornady superformance Black hills 5.56 77grn otm IMI 77 grn but still shot at moa 3" grouping consistently and At same elevation did not have to change holdover compared to Norma match 77 grn and PMC match 77grn which both shot way low. I shot at 320 yds through 5 one gallon water jugs it passed through 4 and recovered the round in the 5th jug perfectly petaled w/jacket intact it made the loudest thud and shredded the first 2 one gallon jugs compared to the other bullets which all separated from their jackets and the Hornady stopped in the 3rd w/ lost jacket in the second BHs lost the jacket and lead core broke into 3 small pieces in the 4th jug IMI did a good number but got drove into the ground in the 3rd jug I just received the ammo FINALLY!!! So have not used hunting yet just target shooting to get a feel for it but I can already tell this will be more devasting than the 64grainers I've been using on coyotes I would not hesitate to use this for deer or antelope especially for HD. I can tell this is going to be my hunting ammo of choice for my Ruger AR-556.
