Alex Pro Firearms (APF) is excited to introduce our Bolt Carrier Groups (BCGs) featuring SP4, a revolutionary hybrid DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating developed over a year of extensive research. SP4 boasts impressive hardness ratings of 2500-3500 HV while maintaining ductility, ensuring toughness without the brittleness often associated with common PVD/DLC thin film coatings. This innovative coating significantly reduces friction and enhances wear resistance for metal components, resulting in a longer lifespan and requiring minimal maintenance with little to no lubrication. Tested to perform in extreme conditions, SP4 has demonstrated its reliability at -44 deg F in the Alaskan mountains and in both Iraq and Afghanistan without lubrication, making it an ideal choice for desert environments and frigid climates. It has successfully passed the ASTM 85 (Annex 1) Salt Fog test, offering the best hardness and lowest friction coefficient while retaining the ability to "move" with the metal it protects. Each BCG includes a hand-polished bolt carrier with a chrome-lined bore and a staked gas key, along with a bolt featuring gas rings, a firing pin, cam pin and firing pin retaining pin.
