Alien Gear's Springfield IWB holster can be reconfigured into other types of holsters in a matter of moments, without any tools. By removing the Shift Shell and mounting it to any of the ShapeShift backers, what was once an IWB holster could then be an OWB paddle holster, slim appendix carry holster or an OWB belt slide holster. The cant, ride height and retention may also be altered to personal preference. The cant and ride height may be changed by raising or lowering the belt clips. Install an adjustable retention unit for a tighter or looser hold on the handgun. The Shift Shell is made from an injection-molded polymer that will fit the exact measurements of the Springfield XD Mod.2 3 inches subcompact model chambered in 9/40. The shell is mounted to the holster at a single point, molding more accurately to the waistline. The backer is made of four layers of materials edge bound together. A layer of perforated neoprene rests against the body, wicking sweat and ventilating the holster. The front layer is a high drag, high durability thermo elastomer Alien Skin textile. Those two materials enclose a layer of flexible spring steel and strong ballistic nylon.
