Will this work on a 20 inch barrel 224 valkyrie?
DEAN C on Feb 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Need to look for terms like carbine, mid length, rifle length...

The issue is distance of the gas port from the chamber.

Believe most 20 or 24 inch barrels will have rifle length gas systems
Do you use this exact tube on your PA10 and 6.5 Creedmoor uppers?
Shane L on Jan 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I used this tube on a DPMS Upper. The tube length is determined by the placement of the gas port in your barrel. Your barrel should specify which gas tube it requires. Both of my AR-10 barrels use a rifle length gas tube, but you should check the paperwork with your barrel.
Does this include the roll pin?
Texas Gravel on Jun 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Unless stated, they do not come with a gas tube roll pin.
Does this tube work for a 24" barrel? 308 AR10
Shaun H on Oct 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Depending on the manufacturer, the answer can vary. Like DPMS does not use the same tubes for AR-15s as AR-10s, there is a slight length difference. However, Armalite does not have this problem. I use this on a 18" .223 Wylde barrel. It is rifle length, so should do the trick, but it is hard to say for certain, there are some variables that are hard to account for. If it is all PSA gear, it will probably work. If it is a DPMS upper (all Hardened Arms AR-10 uppers are DPMS, for example), then don't get this gas tube. Otherwise, should be fine, but keep the receipt. If it fails to go into battery after cycling, you will know why.
Is this the correct gas tube for a psa 16.5" barrel with troy industries low pro gas block?
Levi_duff on Oct 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No. Depending on profile you need a carbine or mid length gas tube not a rifle. Rifle length is for a 20 inch barrel or if you are building a true dissipator style cabine.

The roll pin is an easy pin to damage! Palmetto is a great company over-all.
I am just an amateur with AR's and have bent one gas tub roll pin. They are a tight fit so the firearm will not malfunction. The roll pin has to be extremely tight and as Palmetto states this is an "interference fit" for a reason. I only bent one pin which was my first install. After that I used a little petroleum lube to assist in fitment. The pin needs to be installed correctly. Have heard of guys using special clamping pliers with some electrical tape to keep from scratching the plating. Myself I used a Stanley roll pin punch. The trick is to make sure the pin is put in straight from the beginning of the insert. The lube seemed to assist the pin fitment. Since doing this I have not had any more problems.

Reasonable price but no quality
Ordered it for my PAS Ar-10 build. It's the right length for the barrel I also ordered from PSA but they really messed up the pin hole alignment. There's no way to install the roll pin. I know because I tried and destroyed the roll pin. Now I have to order both the tube and pin from someplace else. Oh and everyone else includes the pin WITH the tube but not PSA?!?! Really dropped the ball on this one.

Comment by PSA: From experience roll pins can require some compression to install. It is an interference fit meaning the roll pin must fit snugly in the hole in order to not come out while firing. If the tube is indeed out of spec it will be replaced under warranty.
