ATI GSG Firefly 4.9" .22lr Threaded Barrel Pistol, Black - GERG2210TFF

Overall very happy, the weapon ran 36 gain bulk ammunition very well. The first day at the range I had two FTF out of 200 rounds. Both of which I believe were the result of a magazine issue. Took the weapon and mag down for a good cleaning and I’m expecting even better results next time out.

Bought this pistol just to plink around. What a blast,so fun I bought my girlfriend a pink one. I've had no problems at all using CCI ammo.

well made,still determining which ammo they like CCI recommended,a little pricey ,Winchester 1260 fps no prob. Fed, first round misfire, some failure to eject. Rem no bueno. Waiting for some Aguila super xtra 38gr,supposed to work well

Very happy with this. Almost no issues through roughly 1500 rounds of break in with cheap HV ammo. Got it for a steal at less than $200 OTD... only 1 mag. Roughly $25 each for extras.

Nice gun for the money. Light weight, from more resesrch the slide ramp has to be polished in order for it to feed rounds easily. No biggie

Ordered this about a month ago and was skeptical due to some of the negative reviews. Took it out today right out of the box and shot 200 CCI mini-mag rounds through this and only had one FTC on the 2nd round of the first mag. Next 198 rounds ran flawlessly. Have not tried any cheap bulk ammo yet, but it seems to take the CCI ammo just beautifully.

I have read quite a few bad reviews on this pistol but the one I have shoots the 40 grain Blazer .22 lr very well. It shot well right out of the box

I purchased with a bit of concern considering the number of reviews for this and the identical SIG Mosquito regarding operation malfunctions with standard velocity ammo.

Mine showed up in good condition and with a quick clean and oil I hit the range and proceeded to run 100rds through it. This was standard Remington Golden Bullet I was using... First magazine of 10rds, had 4 malfunctions, a couple of feed, a couple of failure to eject. After mag one, the other nine magazines fired flawlessly. No other feed or extraction or any other issues.

I found the handgun to be of good quality, reasonably accurate with that cheap ammo, smooth, and comfortable to shoot.

For an inexpensive, less harsh way to get my son and wife introduced to firing a handgun, and just to have fun with, this Firefly is a no brainer!

I've run several hundred rounds through mine. I purchased a 1/2"-28 thread adapter to run a rimfire suppressor (Rugged Oculus). I've been shooting CCI Standard Velocity without a lot of trouble. I haven't changed the spring from what was installed at the factory (it comes with a second softer spring). It cycles the std. vel. more reliably with the suppressor than without. I suppose it benefits from the additional gas pressure from the suppressor. It's "Hollywood" quiet with the suppressor but I do get an occasional failure to eject. I'm not heartbroken over $200. I read the reviews before I purchased and knew it would be a possibility especially with the std. velocity ammo.

You can't field strip the pistol with the threaded adapter on as it prevents the slide from passing over the barrel. That's not the pistol's fault.

Feels great in the hand. Sights are raised enough to see over a rimfire suppressor. Aftermarket magazine follower adds another 4 rounds to the factory mag. I also own a Ruger Mark IV and a GSG 1911-22. I like all of my rimfire pistols. You need to remember this is an inexpensive $200 pistol not a $400 Ruger.

I bought this because I was told it was a Sig Sauer with a different name on it.
Not reliable, I guess you get what you pay for.

I am very pleased with the Firefly 22lr. Like others have said, I guess it is fairly sensitive to ammo but I really don't know.. I have not tried to force the pistol to jam. I have used only CCI Mini-Mags 36g hp and have had 100% reliability over 500+ rounds. It is accurate with the most comprehensive set of features on the market at this price point.May not be what you want to shoot junk ammo, but feed it well and this is an accurate and dependable weapon.

So I’m excited about this pistol. I’d read the reviews. Fussy, doesn’t cycle low velocity. So I’ll just use mini mags, or similar, like the reviews suggest. I had some bulk Federal and Winchester Super X, 37 gr., 1330FPS stuff that my 10-22 fires flawlessly. I’ll give these a try. Out of the box tried about 50 rds of each. Wouldn’t cycle through an entire clip on either. Well, I’m just breaking it in. Took it down, cleaned with Hoppes 9, lubed well with Remmoil, and back out to range...wanted to try a variety of stuff. Started with the CCI Stinger 32 gr 1640 rds, still won’t cycle a clip. So, maybe too light. Go to the CCI Mini Mag 36gr. Still won’t cycle reliably. So I try Remington Golden HV 40gr. No go. I don’t know what this pistol likes.
A pistol I can’t trust to be reliable is worthless to me.

ITS FUSSY ON WHAT AMMO YOU USE. 36 GRAIN HAS FTE'S AND FTF'S. 40GR WORK BETTER. CHANGED RECOIL SPRING BUT HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO SHOOT

Like so many before I had to polish the feed ramp to make it chamber rounds. I also had to polish the hammer and slide where it was failing to cycle properly. Now it will fire any .22 round strong enough to cycle the slide. Subsonic is not going to work. Dead on accurate and fun little gun to shoot.

ONLY USE REMINGTON THUNDERBOLT and you won’t have a problem. My wife and I both have the firefly. After trying multiple brands of ammo the Remington Thunderbolt cycles perfectly for us. We have cycled well over 2000 rounds each through the guns.

A good deal, shoots well..can't beat the price

I've been looking for a 22 pistol but didn't want to pay $350+ or use a single action revolver. I found the Firefly at $179 and researched GSG and their relationship to Sig's Mosquito.

I used it for the first time last week with my kids and it was fantastic as long as I used CCI Mini-Mags. It was very accurate with No failures of any kind.

I tried other rounds from Federal and Hornaday and it was a problem, then I switched back to CCI and it was smooth again.

My kids love this gun and are excited about shooting it again.

Negatives:
I had problems out of the box before I even left the FFL. The decocker wouldn't work or the safety. My FFL guy was like do you want me to send it back? He even volunteered to test fire it for me. I was having a very bad feeling overall. I wanted one of these because my best friend loaned me his Sig Mosquito and I was very impressed with it. I shoot about 200 rounds and only had 2 or 3 jams.

I shot Aquila Hv (copper plated 40gr round nose 1250fps) and had tons of FTF as well as a few FTE. After a while the FTF count went down to every other magazine.

I then tried Federal Champion hollow points (36gr copper plated 1260fps) and had again tons of FTF but almost no FTE. I noticed the nose of the bullet would tilt down causing this to happen.

At this point in time I'm ready to sell it. So, I put it away for a while, as you can imagine, until I had the courage to try it again. Upon trying again I added Blazer lead round nose to the mix 1235fps.

Almost all the problems I was having began to go away when I painfully was able to put 380 rounds through it. I never polished the feed ramp like so many have done. It shoots all 3 ammo brands very well even the 1235fps blazer now.

I polished the feed ramp, cleaned, lubed, etc and this thing will still choke (FTF, FTE) on HV bulk ammo. I have not tried minimags but hoping this will help with the issues. I got frustrated with this handgun so I move on to shooting some of my others. It is fun to shoot it suppressed, but it has been rare to cycle more than 3 rounds without some sort of failure.

My son and I both bought one of these pistols to plink with and have fun. Neither are able to cycle a single magazine without having a malfunction. Failures to feed and failures to extract being the most common. This continued even after changing the recoil spring and polishing the feed ramps. Buyer beware these pistols are complete junk. Take a few minutes to read honest reviews online about them and save yourself the money.

When I first received my GSG Firefly, the magazine would not lock in place easily - I had to wiggle it or smack the bottom of the mag hard in order for the mag to seat properly.
I reached out to customer support to arrange a return for repair. My customer support experience was not good and I felt I made a mistake by purchasing the pistol.
Before investing additional money to ship the pistol back, I decided to spend a little time looking over the problem and realized the bottom of left grip barely extended too far causing the interference. I polished a very small amount of material from the bottom of the grip and reinstalled. This resolved the issue with minimal effort.
Since then, I have fired hundreds of rounds through the pistol and have not experienced any problems - not a single jam or misfeed, which I think is exceptional for a 22LR pistol and bulk ammo.
So, in the end, I give a 4- star overall rating only because of the initial problem and poor customer support.
The Firefly has become one of my favorite 22 pistols to shoot and I recommend it. I have considered purchasing another because PSA is selling for a terrific price.

Great feel in your hand. Took this straight to the range and had a great time with this new firearm. Would purchase again.

Love it... Easy and cheap to shoot. Fits my hands perfect I'm 5'7 170lbs.

Very Good for sub $200 gun. Basically a mosquito clone. With polished feed ramp this gun will feed bulk ammo reliable.

Jams all the time. Mine was shooting better with 36gr bullets and higher velocity. Other than that it shoots fine when it's not jammed

Love the gun. Needed to polish the feed ramp to run cheap bulk 22. Best price for a threaded barrel.

Dislike that it has the 'magazine must be in' safety "Feature". Trigger leaves a lot to be desired. Really accurate though and so far very reliable. For the price though, good value I feel.

It is a nice 22. I had to polish the feed ramp but I would say its reliable with the right ammo. I use cci mini mags

Great pistol for the price. Feels more like a larger caliber pistol. Have ran a few clips of Remington thunderbolt through without any problems. Love the double action, decocker, and the safety fits my thumb just right. I wish it came with two magazines, that would be my only complaint. Feels well made, two thumbs up GSG.

Gun works well but will jam if using lighter ammo

The trigger sucks...very hard trigger pull for a 22.

Performed very well straight from the box. The finish on the slide is not the best but with a little honey oil, i was able to clean it up a bit. It also doesn't come with a manual or take down guide. Overall really a good gun for the price.

Great little pistol at a good price. This is the a sig pistol before they discontinued the rim fire lineup. Be careful it does toss sparks out the top and can get in your eye.

I was anxious to get my hands on one of these Fireflies. I understand that GSG used to make the highly-respected Mosquito for SIG. In time, it may become a favorite for me or my wife. But I was disappointed in how stiff the controls and trigger were out of the box, even after lubrication. I'll try to post an update after adequate break-in.

I highly recommend seeing/holding one of these before buying it, especially if you love the way a full-size 226 or 229 fits your hand. This slightly-smaller-scale version feels, well, like someone shrunk a great gun until it no longer fits... my hands, at least. If you have smaller hands or shorter fingers, you may love it.
