Introducing the PS-31 Binocular Night Vision Device (BNVD), a compact and lightweight dual-tube goggle designed to replace the legacy PS-15. Among the vast array of dual-tube night vision goggles, the PS-31 stands out as one of the smallest and lightest units available. Equipped with high-performance Gen 3 image intensifier tubes made in the USA, the PS-31 was developed in direct collaboration with U.S. operators to enhance system resolution, significantly reduce head-mounted weight, improve center of gravity and offer enhanced operational versatility and situational awareness. Featuring a 50 degree field of view for maximum visibility in the field, these auto gain-capable tubes adjust brightness levels automatically to suit changing ground conditions. The PS-31 BNVD includes independently pivoting tube housings that allow users to operate the goggles in either binocular or monocular configurations. Utilizing two tubes enhances depth perception and facilitates easier maneuvering across varied terrain and obstacles, while also enabling operation of control panels and door knobs. In monocular mode, operators can swiftly adapt to fluctuating lighting conditions typical on the battlefield, seamlessly transitioning between night vision and weapon-mounted optics. The pivoting tube housings also enable the goggles to be stowed in a flattened position against the helmet surface, reducing profile height for improved operator safety and equipment longevity.
