During the honing process, tight spots can be detected and addressed with additional attention until they are smoothed out. For new barrels, using the Fine hone alone enhances the factory finish to a stunning, mirror-bright appearance that is sure to satisfy customers. The process is straightforward - secure the hone in a variable speed electric drill, apply Flex Hone oil to the hone, start the drill and insert the hone into the barrel from the breech end, if feasible. As the hone operates, a slurry of abrasive and oil forms, facilitating the cutting action.
