Testing indicates a protection duration of 10 to 15 years when steel components are wrapped in GunWrap, sealed in plastic and stored in a cool environment. The product does not harm bluing or steel. It is not recommended for use with aluminum, silver, brass or copper. While it may cosmetically stain nickel plating, such stains typically clean off easily. It is incompatible with certain older lacquer finishes, though modern finishes remain unaffected.
