Features

With a Brownells manganese parkerizing setup in your workshop, you can provide your customers with the same durable and cost-effective finish that has protected U.S. Military firearms for decades. This finish is ideal for handguns, rifles and shotguns, offering a dull gray appearance that blends seamlessly with camouflage gear and does not reflect light, which could alert game. The coating's porous structure absorbs oil, aiding in rust prevention. Parkerizing is straightforward to perform and, since it is most effective on a blasted finish, there is no need for polishing equipment, eliminating the need to charge for polishing time. The resulting color can range from light to dark gray, depending on the alloy and hardness of the base metal and parkerizing provides an excellent foundation for a baking lacquer or camouflage paint finish. Once the solution is mixed and activated, simply add water as needed and replenish the tank with fresh solution between uses. There is no requirement to discard the solution after each use, nor is there a need for complex testing to ensure the correct levels of additives. During our experimentation, we intentionally attempted to compromise the solution and results and although some pieces did not meet our expectations, they remained usable. We have incorporated all our findings into a comprehensive instruction booklet, allowing you to avoid the mistakes we encountered. Our instructions offer more than just the essential facts; they explain the mechanics of parkerizing and provide extensive troubleshooting information. If you are already equipped for Oxynate No.7 bluing, integrating parkerizing into your shop is straightforward. You will require our parkerizing solution, a stainless steel tank and stand, a diffuser plate, a heat source, post solution treatment, a fiberglass tank, atomized steel activator, bore plugs, a few coffee filters and our instruction booklet. For those starting from scratch, our complete parkerizing Kits include the necessary chemicals, tanks, stands, burners, safety gear and more, down to the wire for hanging parts and rubber plugs for bore protection. Set up the equipment, connect to an electric, LP or natural gas supply, mix the solutions and you are prepared to offer your customers a robust, durable, rust-resistant finish efficiently, reliably and profitably.
