Specialized pliers enable Glock owners to detach the base pad from factory magazines without damaging or cracking the plastic. The small crimping tips are designed to make precise contact with the magazine just above the locking tabs. The hardened steel handles are engineered with the appropriate geometric curvature to prevent over-compression of the magazine sidewalls. Once compressed, the base pad can be easily slid off. Rubber sleeves ensure a secure grip. It is recommended to wear eye protection when removing magazine base pads.
