Steel Bed is an advanced, durable bedding and stabilizing epoxy compound designed for wood and fiberglass gun stocks. Engineered specifically for firearms, it provides exceptional impact resistance by encasing the action in a layer of solid, corrosion-resistant stainless steel, ensuring a precise epoxy-matrix fit crucial for superior accuracy. Through a unique formulation, Steel Bed contains more stainless steel by weight than epoxy - 2.5 times more than competing products. It exhibits minimal shrinkage, less than 0.1% and resists compression, crumbling or degradation under the most severe magnum or semi-automatic recoil. Fiberglass stock manufacturers utilize Steel Bed to reinforce the recoil lugs of lightweight mountain rifles, while military armorers and civilian shooters rely on it under demanding conditions without experiencing breakdown or deterioration. Rigorous testing confirmed its superior performance and subsequent evaluations by armorers, gunsmiths and competitive shooters in real-world scenarios demonstrated that Steel Bed met and exceeded all expectations. It showed no signs of cracking, crazing or degradation and consistently improved group sizes. All tested firearms, including semi-automatic, 1000 yd, bolt-action match rifles, Benchrest guns and hunting rifles, exhibited enhanced performance after bedding with Steel Bed. Due to its high stainless steel content, achieving a color match with wood tones can be challenging. However, our latest dyes offer a usable brown for wood stocks and an excellent black for synthetic materials. Alternatively, Steel Bed can be painted along with the synthetic stock. For optimal color matching on wood stocks, Steel Bed can be used for recoil lugs and pillar bedding, while acraglas or acraglas gel, which are more easily dyed, can be applied where the bedding is visible. Steel Bed is the ultimate steel-bearing bedding compound, combining exceptional strength and ease of use. The mixing ratio is a straightforward 1-part resin to 1-part hardener by volume and its creamy, non-runny texture ensures it remains in place during application.
