Features
The Cimarron US Cavalry 1873 Henry Nettleton model pays homage to the rare and highly coveted 1st Generation Colt pistols inspected by Henry Nettleton, a US Principal Sub-Inspector for the US ordnance department in 1878. Nettleton's unique inspection initials and stamps on these firearms set them apart, with only about 3000 guns bearing his marks. Unlike other inspectors, Nettleton placed his stamp on the left side of the hammer and trigger guard, adding to the historical intrigue surrounding these pieces. The Cimarron replica faithfully recreates the US Cavalry 1873 model, a .45.45 Long Colt single-action revolver with a 7-1/2 inches barrel, standard blue finish and walnut grips. It meticulously replicates Nettleton's inspection stamps and proof marks using the exact fonts and placements as found on the original 1st generation Colt government models. This attention to detail ensures that each Cimarron Henry Nettleton Cavalry revolver captures the essence of these historically significant firearms, revered for their role as the weapon of choice for government troops during the late 19th century.
